A warm Italian and English welcome awaits you at Casa Valeria. The house is situated about 3 kms from the mediaval village of Pigna, in the Upper Nervia Valley, between the Italian Riviera and the Ligurian Alps, near the French border.
We have two guest bedrooms reached by an outside staircase. One room is twin bedded (the lilac room), and the other room (the peach room) is double bedded. Both rooms are ensuite, and there are tea and coffee making facilities in each room, and there is a fridge. The lilac room has a balcony, and the peach room has a balcony and a large terrace. Both rooms have wonderful views, down into the valley, and into the mountains. We are overlooked by the 1970 mt Mount Toraggio.
We offer a varied breakfast, which guests can take in our lovely garden, which is set over olive tree terraces. There is an outside pizza oven and BBQ area. There is ample parking right up to the house.
Ideally you will need a car unless you want to sit under our olive trees all day, which is fine with us. The area is designated as a Regional Park, and is ideal for walking, cycling, swimming in the natural pools, caving in a nearby village, wild mushroom foraying and wildlife. There are lots of
very lovely mediaval villages to be visited - all very different in
character, and most of them have festivals during the year.
Pigna has a Bank, Post Office, Pharmacy, several small shops and restaurants. There is a regular bus service into Ventimiglia, our nearest town on the coast - about 18 kms.
We feel that we offer a very personal service, as we love meeting different people from all over. My partner, being a local Italian, is very knowledgeable about the area, and its wildlife. We are very relaxed and flexible about arrival, departure times and breakfast times. Our door is always open for our guests if they need anything.
