Your large apartment (121 square meters) is close to Central Park (4-1/2 blocks), shops and restaurants, one block to the market.
It is one of six in my house, four on Airbnb and two rented long-term. The building is quiet. We keep it clean.
I only have a couple reviews of an this apartment, but good reviews on the others. We have rented from Airbnb all over the world and some hosts made us feel really at home. I plan to do the same for you here, so that you feel at home, too. Welcome !
Welcome to our house in Antigua. This is a very cosmopolitan town. I compare it to a small Manhattan.
There, in Manhattan, streets go East-West and here also. Avenues in Manhattan go North-South, in Antigua also. In Manhattan, the best Avenue is 5th, it runs by Central Park and has great shops. Exactly the same here in Antigua, and the 5th Avenue also has the famous Arch over it. Manhattan is full of cosmopolitan cuisine, Antigua may be a bit smaller, but the same applies, food is fabulous. During the week, there are 45,000 people and on weekends 100,000, who keep the restaurants in business.
Our weather is better than pretty much anywhere, Spring all year round. And you have views of three volcanoes over Antigua.
My wife and I have used Airbnb apartments in Agrigento, Amsterdam, Austin (4x), Bayeux, Berlin, Boston, Budapest, Buenos Aires, Copenhagen. den Haag, Giverny, Ljubjana, London, Lucca, Madrid, Mexico City (3x), Oslo, Palermo, Paris, Rome (2x), San Cristobal de las Casas, Siena. Siracusa, Taormina, Trieste, Valetta, Venice, Vienna and several other places. We are heading to Buenos Aires. All apartments were good, only one was bad. In some, our host made us feel really at home and that's what we'll try and do for you.
We are close to the Parque Central, the center of Antigua. La Bodegona, the main supermarkets, is 1-1/2 blocks away and the Antigua market for vegetables, fruits, flowers and everything is right behind the house. The "Mercado de Artesanias", the craft market, is 2 block south of the house.
Restaurants at all price levels, from the cheapest to the most luxurious are all around.
I have three other Airbnb apartments in the building and two with long-term tenants.
We clean public spaces, hallways and stairs, every day. We also clean in your apartment prior to your arrival and then every Thursday.
Your apartment is entirely your own.
Interaction with guests
I live in my house immediately behind the apartments. I am in Antigua several days a week, other days in Guatemala City, but will try to make sure that I am here to welcome you and give you tips on how to live in Antigua. On the few occasions that we travel, my three staff are here to help you.
I give guests total freedom, but am available by phone, e-mail or in person to help answer questions or anything else.
Other things to note
The apartment has cable with CNN, BBC, and other channels from the US, Mexico, Guatemala and Latin America, with two TV's. We have about as high-speed internet as there is in Guatemala, at 10 Mbps. Our internet comes via an underground cable, so it is pretty reliable. There is a Wi-Fi router, of course.
