This 1905 house was built for the Engineer of the trains when the first passenger train arrived in Whitefish. Downtown is 2 blocks away with a deli making homemade food from scratch, our own coffee roasting company, Breweries, art galleries, music and bars...and of course Skiing, Boarding, Kayak/paddleboard/canoe in the river, walk or bike to Whitefish, and the view of the Ski Area that you can see from town. Glacier Park is 27 miles away. It doesn't get better than that.

The proximity to downtown was fantastic although we learned it came with its downsides as well. The place has no air conditioning so we left the windows open to get a breeze. We were constantly disturbed throughout the night by the curfew sirens, trains going by, loud cars and mo…

Response from Nola:
Hello Laura, I am sorry that you had that experience. Although I am a light sleeper, I have not had the same experience. In 38 years, I have not experience the people peeing outside. I do think the siren is louder now with the new parking building but historically it was the rural alert system for volunteer fire fighters and search and rescue. I will pass on your concerns about the siren to our City. Trains are part of a Railroad town and can be heard in almost every part of town. It is part of what Whitefish is. The loud cars and motorcycles I have not heard but since we are only 2 blocks from downtown, it could happen occasionally. The second bedroom is to the side of the house and not near the street and would have been a better choice for a light sleeper. I hope that you enjoyed Whitefish and will return some day. Nola
