This is a fabulous Sioux tipi that I personally lived in for 15 months as I built my ranch house.Tough livin-there is a bed and a fire...but the best sleeping you may ever have. The most peaceful find, and so inspirational to wake to birds and nature, instead of everyday city life.A change of pace.Imagine how people lived as they first came to this rugged country.Ever amazed at the strength reliability and ingenuity of this original primitive shelter.A (URL HIDDEN) NEVER slept in a tipi!?!!?

The space

This is a Tipi!!
You can share the space of the living room area in the main house which has a desk and a television. Electricity at least! You may use the kitchen. We all do, so everyone is expected to use and clean for themselves. You may use the refrigerator. There is a single bathroom with a tub and shower. For everyone. But it is nice and clean and hot water is great with great pressure. Basics, not lovely, but certainly clean and usable.

Guest access

This is staying in a Tipi. Run of the place otherwise, but you are the one staying in the tipi!...Not on the couch in the living room

Interaction with guests

I am around a lot I live here. My horses are here so I have to take care of them everyday. It's a lifelong commitment. If I am not around I am easily accessible. I try to interact with the guests as best I can tell from what they would like. If you want to be left alone you won't hear me again. If you want to sit around and play chess then here I am. I cuss. But all that's to a minimum because, well, I just don't have much time for it. Hangovers hurt more than they used to. I'm quiet and I try to be respectful and I ask that from all my guests. I teach horseback riding and I have my horses here and that is an option for all my guests to go riding, at a discount! I take guided tours out and i also host overnight trips. Just ask me, I'll be glad to show you the horses and you can just enjoy them as you like. I must require safety first in all regards though. I'm a professional fly fisherman. A guide. I've taught skiing for 14 years. I canoe. I hike. In general I love the outdoors.

Other things to note

Bring a smile and leave elated and elevated! Bring a frown and just drop that off at the curb and we'll start over

I was really excited to be sleeping in the tipi. It was much better than I expected. I made a camp fire and stayed up late looking at the stars which were incredible. It was warmer than I expected but the temperature did drop towards dawn so make sure you have a sleeping bag. Watch out for cactus so wear decent shoes. I had use of the main house for facilities which were clean and the kitchen and lounge area were cosy. Edward was super friendly and great to talk to! I definitely recommend the tipi if you want a more back to basics night out under the stars.
