We have an ancient church in the village that stands on gently rising ground overlooking the River Alde. Its antiquity is possibly confirmed by Saxon features evident in the tower's flint work. Originally built by a Count of the Saxon Shore as a defensive structure to cover the ford in the river below.
The nearby Framlingham Mere & Framlingham Castle is a popular walking route and one enjoyed by many dog walkers and families who want a day out. Exceptional wildlife and several popular hiking paths can be found surrounding it and the area at large.
