Our large and sunny home has everything you need for the best getaway in the Western North Carolina mountains! We are just a 25 minutes drive from downtown Asheville, and 20 minutes from nearby Black Mountain. We are surrounded by picturesque barns, farms, and beautiful green mountain scenery. Your room has a private ensuite bathroom, perfect for relaxation and privacy. All you hear are the sounds of the creek, the birds, frogs and crickets. Location Location Location!

The space

Your bedroom features a sunny room complete with your own private ensuite shower and bathroom. Fresh towels and sheets are provided.

And the best part of our place: Walk out the door and you are in nature. Turn the corner and check out our organic veggie garden, walk a bit further and relax by our private creek. We have 4 acres of edible forest including fruit trees, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, Goji berries, fresh herbs, medicinal herbs, and seasonal organic vegetables. We are at 2560 feet in elevation. It's often 5-10F degrees cooler than downtown Asheville, just from the change in elevation. That makes for a wonderful escape after a long hot day of sight-seeing to enjoy a cool evening in the forest. It's amazing, we love it and we hope you love it too!

If you're looking for an even more outdoor experience, you are welcome to bring your own tent and camping gear and camp outside by the creek on our property. It's an incredibly beautiful spot! With this, you would still have access to your room in the house as well as your private ensuite bathroom. In case of rain or inclement weather you could always change plans and sleep inside. If you like to fish, bring your fishing rod and catch one of the local trout. Experience the fun of "Asheville Glamping" or glamorous camping...right in the heart of the mountains.

Guest access

For health enthusiasts, you have access to a Blendtec blender, an Omega juicer, and an organic food kitchen! We grow our own organic veggies, make fresh organic teas and have all organic spices. You can juice, make green smoothies and make a healthy start to every day of your stay. If you enjoy buying from local farmers, we can help you find all the area tailgate markets. Please just one request is that you don't cook any meat on the pots and pans provided. Eggs or cheese are ok.

Of course, there are also fantastic restaurants all over Asheville and nearby as well! And there is a great new micro brewery - Turgua - just down the road from us!

Your room facilitates all your needs to maximize your comfort. It has one private toilet and shower.

Your room features:
- Queen sized bed
- Free high speed WiFi
- Egyptian cotton sheets
- Clean towels
- Storage cupboard
- Private ensuite shower and toilet

The shared kitchen features:
- Blendtec blender
- Omega juicer and electric citrus juicer
- Gas stove and convection oven
- Big refrigerator with freezer
- All cooking appliances (pots, pans, etc.)
- Cutlery, plates and dining equipment
- Clean and delicious well water for drinking (no chlorine or fluoride - yay!)

We have a porch which you are welcome to enjoy for a nice evening breeze or early morning coffee.

Interaction with guests

We are here during your stay, and can recommend restaurants, and things to see and do while you're in the Asheville area. We traveled the world and used airbnb ourselves many times, so we take extra care in being good hosts for you. In fact, we also used airbnb when we first arrived to the Asheville area and were looking to buy a house. So, if you are thinking about moving to the area and want some tips, we can help you with that too.

We welcome you as our guests!

Other things to note

As you'll see in the pictures, we have a dog and 3 cats. The pets are outside during the day, but they do come inside at night to sleep. Our dog Ella is a large white Great Pyrenees, and is true to her breed of being a "gentle giant." She is very calm and friendly. The cats all have their own personalities. Mainly they are interested in their food and sleeping when inside. We keep the house clean, and your airbnb room is closed from all pets to make it as nice as possible for anyone with any allergies. We ask that even if a cat wants to come and investigate the room, that you please leave your door closed.

If you are looking for a quiet spot off the beaten path, surrounded by some incredible beauty in nature, if you like a picnic by a bubbling brook, if you love animals, and if you enjoy fun conversation with people who come from unique backgrounds - this is just the place for you!-Paul Yossi and Jennifer were wonderful hosts and their home was the perfect spot for us to relax after a day in Asheville. We appreciated their '22 places to visit' and took a hike up Bearwallow Mountain, one of their suggestions. As Paul said, the surroundings are perfect for a relaxing time, and the drive into the center of Asheville is easy. We feel we got the best of both worlds. The home has lots of fun nooks and crannies to read, write and relax. The decor is farm organic with shabby chic. And we made instant friends with the dogs and cats. We'll be back! Thanks and merci, Yossi and Jennifer!-Elizabeth

Joseph was kind, considerate and very accommodating. We arrived super late and he was very understanding. The property is beautiful. Joseph has done an incredible job in building his farm and taking care of his land. The natural creek nearby was peaceful and his cats and dogs are kind companions that walked with us around the property. All in all, it was the peaceful experience we were looking for. We'd definitely stay with Joseph again if given the opportunity.

If you are looking for a place to escape to unplug and disconnect from the busyness of life. (Although, there is wifi if you must connect periodically.) You've found it. My husband and I spent 3 wonderful days with Yossi (Joseph) and Jennifer. They shared so many hidden gems with us regarding the property and the surrounding communities. We were able to go kayaking at Lake Lure. They guided us to local trails for hiking. Sweet Jennifer even tried to find a place for me to get in my 8 mile training run, but we both decided that there were no safe options nearby. Our hosts were as available as you wanted them to be and as invisible (for lack of better word) at the same time. We spent an evening sitting around a fire talking and another even hanging out alone. They granted us the use of the kitchen, which a bonus. We cooked almost all our meals while there. The bedroom was spacious with a queen bed, a full closet and a private bath. There are many places to sit, relax and take things in around the property and inside the house. Each night, we were lulled to sleep by the sound of the water running in the nearby creek. This is a wonderful Airbnb. We highly recommend it and will visit again.

Joseph and Jennifer were wonderful hosts. They have a lovely home and property about 30 minutes from downtown Asheville. We had no issues finding the house as they sent very detailed instructions, but keep in mind that this is quite a bit off the beaten path and down some curvy country roads. There are several pets on the property including an awesome dog named Ella and three cats. All very well behaved and friendly. We had good WiFi connection during our stay. There is minimal to zero cell phone service at the house (AT&T coverage was nonexistent within 5 miles of home - girlfriend has Verizon and had okay service 1-2 miles down the road from home), so punch in your destination on GPS before heading into Asheville. They made us an amazing green smoothie one morning and have lots of fresh veggies and fruits from their organic garden. Great stay and awesome hosts. Highly recommend!
