Location

Galway, County Galway, Ireland

The chalet is set in a quite safe neighbourhood. With street parking and a private entrance. Perfect for the independent traveller who wishes to come and go as they please. I am only a stones throw away living in the main house. So I will be easy to reach if you have any queries or just want a chat!

Located near the chalet is a two minute walk to the Merlin pub, Merlin shop (ATM point) and a Polish shop and 2 fast food restaurants Supermac's and Norios. 30 meters from the Merlin shop there is a bus stop. Which will bring you into Eyre Square, the heart of galway city.

Merlin Park hospital is located across the road from the shop. This hospital has a beautiful woodland and meadows. Where many of the locals walk their dogs. The woodland has a wide variety of plants including wild garlic which can be eaten and five species of orchids. The wildlife is also very active with rabbits living in the avenue and the meadows. The occasional fox or badger can also be spotted if your very lucky! There is also a ruin of an old dwelling in the woods which dates back over 100years.

Other amenities in walking distance include Galway Mayo institute of technology, a swimming pool (The Kingfisher) with a new gym area and cafe, a 10 minute walk to the beach where you can play football on the astro turf pitch and take in the views of Galway bay, the full duck restaurant, post office, pharmacy, a laundrette and the Bon Secures hospital.

The Galway Crystal factory is located 7 minute walk from the chalet and is well worth the visit if your looking for nice souvenirs.

There is a supermarket in ballybane (supervalu) which is a 20 minute walk.

The Galway race course is in the nearby locality and easily reached by the 409 bus route (bus stop across from The Galway Crystal factory).

The bus stop beside Merlin Stores will bring you by: Flannery's Hotel, Duggans shop (post office & Pharmacy), the Connaught Hotel, Centra shop & barber shop, Wellpark Retail estate (eye cinema & G hotel), the huntsman, the grey hound track/ Connaught rugby grounds on College road, the new coach station and the final stop Eyre Square

Hi Everyone. My name is Sinéad and I would be delighted to have you stay in my chalet in the beautiful Galway city! I have been living in Galway city the last 18 years. I enjoy country pre suits like horse riding, hill walking and cycling. Which Galway is ideal for. I am here to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I know Galway like the back of my hand. I would only be too happy to suggest fun activities. Galway is such a diverse city with something for everyone. The chalet is set in a quite safe neighbourhood. With street parking and a private entrance. Perfect for the independent traveller who wishes to come and go as they please. I am only a stones throw away living in the main house. The Galway crystal factory is located 7 minutes from the chalet and is well worth the visit if your looking for nice souvenirs. The Galway race course is in the nearby locality and easily reached by the 409 bus route. There is a good public transportation network on the east side of the city with the 409 and 403 buses running every 12 minutes into Galway city centre which is a 4.5km drive (15minutes). A cab will cost you roughly €8.00 from the chalet to the city centre. Please note taxi's run by the minute but cabs charge per kilometre, which runs way cheaper. I have a number of a great cab driver who I highly recommend you use during your stay. This route also passes Wellpark retail park where the The Eye cinema is located.
