This is a tiny, second floor bedroom with all new bedding including pillows, sheets, duvet and quilt. Hardwood floors, one window, electric fireplace (as well as radiator heat), fan, closet with hangers, ironing board and iron.
Immaculately clean. Private bath with bath/shower combo. The entire second floor is private to the guest.

The space

Classic Newport Victorian era cottage with all that goes along with that...charm yes but also the quirky nuances of a 150 year old home.

Guest access

The front porch and front door entry are private to guests. There is no kitchen access.

Interaction with guests

If there is an issue/problem, feel free to text me. Other than that, visitors are on their own. My daughter and I are in and out of the home throughout the day, as we have busy and irregular schedules. You are invited to come and go at your leisure through the front door. We use the back door exclusively. Our dog Bauer is in our space in the main area of the home most of the day--there is a curtain and doggy gate in the front foyer that leads to our space and keeps Bauer with us.

Other things to note

My home is number '70'--NOT '70A' or '70GA' --those come first if you are headed south on Roseneath. It is a white house with black shutters and the only one with a front porch.

Terrific location near Thames and Wellington, quiet residential neighborhood. The room is in the back of the house and offers a lot of privacy. Heather was welcoming, and left clear instructions on getting to the house, and getting in.

Good place! Extremely clean, cosy and private. But be mindful that no access to kitchen. You can request water from her. But can not cook or heat anything.

We really enjoyed our stay at Heather’s. The room was exactly as described, and the room and bathroom were super clean. Heather warmly greeted us at the door when we checked in, and gave us all the information we needed to know in order to make our stay great. She also communicated everything via direct message so we had everything at our fingertips as well. Her home is about a half mile walk to lower Thames and Bellevue Ave, making exploring easy if the weather is right and you’re up for a walking journey (which you definitely should be if you’re visiting Newport!). Parking was located on the street and was free— a big perk! Highly recommended.

Nice room, nice bathroom. No complaints about location, parking, or accommodations. Nice heater in the room (which was great because it was super cold outside) and the house is very quite and mellow. Heather is super nice too!

The Wee Roost was a perfect weekend retreat in Newport. My husband and I received a warm welcome and then privacy and autonomy to come and go. The room was super cute with a lovely, clean private bath with luxurious soap & shampoo provided. It was nestled in a quiet neighborhood for peaceful sleeping and yet an easy walk to restaurants and shops. I would definitely recommend this spot.

Heather's place is located conveniently to many amenities you'd want to visit during your stay in Newport, RI. It is an older, yet well kept home. Decorated in New England country style, it gives a feel of where you are. My bedroom was on a smaller side, but didn't feel too small. You can park free overnight in front of the house. Heather sent me a couple of emails a day prior to my arrival covering all the questions I would have asked, if it wasn't for her proactivity (her presence/absence, AC unit and fan managment, wifi access and parking information). I would recommend Heather's place if you are looking for a cozy, clean and safe place that's neerby water and other prime spots in town.

This is a nice, cozy room on be top floor of the house. Heather was a very accommodating host and we had a great stay. The room gets hot, but she provides a fan and an AC unit so that is well take care of. It was the first time I stayed in a room within an occupied house and I was a little afraid of feeling like I was invading someone's space, but it wasn't like that at all. There are little signs at the doors to tell you where your room and bathroom are and we never even saw the hosts. The house is old and has character but everything in the room seems new ( bedding, etc) there was even a flower in the room, nice touch! Everything had been super cleaned before we got there. He location of the house is great also, walk to the water, walk to the shops and restaurants!
