Interaction with guests
I allow guests to be themselves and leave them alone if they choose as I was a real bed and breakfast host here till 2009. I am very familiar with this area as I have been coming here all my life and been a permanent resident for 18 years. We do have a large vintage shop where we can chat and have some tea.
Other things to note
Wifi in room, electric heater, no kitchen privledges, just the room, bath and vintage shop. Coffee, tea and cocoa in the room.
No smoking, no pets, check in after 4PM and not after 1AM and check out is 12 noon.
Experienced Innkeeper. I enjoy hikers, bikers, extreme bikers, writers, artists, musicians(we have a square grand) and really anyone in the world who would appreciate the quiet of the mountains and the ambiance of a 119 year old house. We have a very casual atmosphere and love chatting and drinking tea on the veranda or small vintage shop. I lived in NY city almost all my life and was a marketing consultant and a lecturer at Queens College but spent my summers here every summer of my life till age 19.
I enjoy the peace and solitude of the mountains and nature around me. I am very knowledgable about this area due to my family coming here since the early 40s.
My motto is If Not Now? When?
The house is very quiet and peaceful. It is 119 years old and not a cookie cutter room, you should love antiques, woodwork and old houses. I know this area like the back of my hand and can tell you the history of it and the history of the house. There is a dog in the house but he never goes in the rooms. He is a therapy dog. I love vintage jewelry, actually anything old, the mountains, organic food and Woodstock NY. I love having guests from all over the world as there is so much to learn from them.
