Located off the beaten path on East Oahu, and tucked snugly between the Ko'olau mountains and the sleepy shores of Punalu'u, this boutique style home offers a charming three bedroom cottage, where you and yours can relax in style and comfort.

The space

Sits on one acre of grassy land in the country and is surrounded with tropical beauty. Close to beach and mountains.

Guest access

Washer and dryer, parking, fire pit and star gazing. Lounge chairs, snorkel gear and beach umbrella.

Interaction with guests

Caretaker shares property and is available as needed by phone. The yard care is extensive and you will likely cross paths while the caretakers are attending to the groundskeeping. You are renting the one story cottage which is the main house. It happens to be connected from the large back porch to the two story adjacent cottage which has a one bedroom suite and is rented separately or can be combined with an additional rental agreement if available. Lots of parking space on the back lawn makes for a relaxing and private feeling for coming and going.

Other things to note

Beaches are all along the surrounding area. Hiking trails are beautiful and closely. In addition to the indoor bathroom, there is an amazing outdoor, private shower with warm water. Very spacious and you enjoy the stars or blue sky in the open space above you where no one can see inside. The AC is for the main living space and not the bedrooms. Cleaning fee is lowered to $95 for 1-2 night stays.

Household Garbage: Any food waste must be wrapped in garbage bags and kept in the outdoor garbage bins daily. Food waste left inside the homes in Hawaii are invitations to unwanted pests. Please do not put anything down the sink that can clog or this will be cause for a charge on your damage deposit. Take the trash to the bins which are located across the lane and by the pond. The caretakers will take the bins out to the curb for pickup.

Air Conditioning: The air conditioner is not meant to run 24/7 and must be turned off when you are away from the home. The air conditioning works best if all of the windows and doors are shut. It is a simple Start/Stop button. Authorized management will enter home and turn it off if found left on and no one is home.

Remote Controls: An AC remote that is lost is $100, TV remote that is lost is $75, and bedroom remote that is lost is $75. Replacement costs are high due to the cost of a technician that has to program the remote specifically.

Screen Doors: When opening the screen door please make sure to push on the white frame around the screen and not the screen itself. If a screen is pushed through or damaged, a $50 repair fee will be assessed.

Inside Bathtub: Water temperature is reversed (blue and red are opposite). Temperature adjustment goes side to side and not pulled out.

Beach Items: Feel free to use anything that you see outside or in the brown bin between the two houses.

Keep the Beach Outside: No sand is allowed indoors or down the shower due to drainage issues. Make sure to rinse off outside before going inside. Any muddy shoes from hiking must be left outside and be cleaned in the grassy area and not in the walkways.

Quiet and Peaceful Abode: Quiet hours are 9pm as it is a family neighborhood. No smoking allowed in or within fifty feet from lodging. Smoking is not allowed on the patios.

Visitors: Visitors that are not registered guest are only permitted by written permission. Events or parties are not included in this rental.

Self Checkout: 11am. If you strip the bed, leave sheets on bed so cleaner can easily know which go with which bed. Throw away food waste in outside trash bin. Please make sure to turn off AC unit. Leave the key inside on the table with the door unlocked behind you.

Sarah is an excellent host, immaculate cottage in a beautiful setting with all the facilities including a full kitchen and outdoor shower. Need a car as it is more than walking distance to shops etc. Highly recommend.

This cottage is simply wonderful. The exterior photos show it exactly as real life presents, while the interior shots in fact don't do the inside of the house justice. One of the best Airbnb houses I've ever stayed at.

Sara's place has the greatest backyard in Airbnb history!!! Gorgeous!!! I feel like this is a must stay Airbnb for everyone that visits Oahu/North Shore. But then again lol maybe not because I wouldn't want it to no longer be the hidden gem that it is. Sara and Beau (the on-site host) responsiveness to your needs is 5 stars all the way. Thank you Sara and Beau for the terrific stay Mahalo! Hauula is super gorgeous.

A terrific location away from the hustle and bustle. We loved waking up to the peace and tranquility and view of the mountains. A perfect choice for people who don't want to be in the city.

Sara's home is lovely. It was perfect for us and had everything we needed for our stay. Despite running into a little electrical trouble, we had a great time, and Beau was very welcoming and accommodating. We'd definitely recommend staying here; it's the perfect little place! Things we loved about the place: the outdoor shower and the backyard patio. The outdoor shower looked a little intimidating at first, but once you experience it, it's absolutely a lovely addition to this place. The backyard patio area is also beautiful during sunrise. The location was also great for us, because we spent most of our time around the North Shore areas and less in Honolulu. All in all, thank you so much! We would definitely stay again if we come back to Hawaii.

Sara's place was a fun experience. We wanted a guest house in the northeast end of Oahu to experience the area. Beau greeted us with up arms and share many recommendations. The guest house was clean and comfortable with a beautiful open backyard. We loved the outdoor shower and all the equipment for the beach. Highly recommend to future visitors.

I am from the hot state of Arizona and I love it! Sunny, warm and beach places like Hawaii are magical places to visit and live. I have been managing the properties for my husband's sister there for three years now. The local beaches and hikes are amazing. Shopping is also so…
