Interaction with guests
We live here, at the other end of the house. How much interaction we share depends on both our schedules & your preference.
Other things to note
Enjoy the lifestyle at the gateway to Byron Bays' world renowned beaches & culture. Central to beach & village life. Head into Bangalow for retail therapy & fine dining. Visit national parks, rainforests & waterfalls. Check out the waves at the Pass from your balcony.
We are experiencing a drought, so please be very careful with your water use.
Smoking strictly outdoors & away from the house please.
No additional & unbooked guests may stay over without permission.
We have Wi-Fi for general use but are not able to host gaming, thanks.
We are 100% solar powered so please be aware to turn lights off when you leave rooms and conserve electricity.
Likewise we are stand alone regarding water, (we collect & filter rainwater), grey-water recycling & on-site sewerage.
Please don't rinse or wash food or drink in the bathroom, this will end up in our grey-water system which cannot process food waste.
Please leave any sanitary items in the bin provided in the toilet, wrapped in toilet paper. Our sewerage system cannot process these items.
Unfortunately we have had some keys go missing so we now need to ask for a key deposit, listed as a security deposit. This will only be charged should you take the key with you.
As an unfenced property near a busy rural road, we are concerned about the safety of your pets. We also need to know that our hens & guinea pig will be safe, so, if you'd like to bring pets, please ask & we can talk to see what will work for everyone.
We expect respect & will respect your space too.

5 things I can't live without? Fresh air;
clean, living water;
my family, friends & community;
fresh local produce full of vitality ( hence my garden, our farmers' markets & Organic Farm Share)
did I mention chocolate? 70% cocoa, fairtrade or raw handmade?
So, that's more than 5, I know.
My favourite travel destinations: already visited: Lord Howe Island, Bay of Islands NZ, San Francisco, Paris, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Marrakesh.
I'd love to visit: the Kimberley Australia, Milford Sound NZ, The Lake district UK, Prague, Bruges, Sardinia, France, Italy.
Just watched & loved "Hereafter".
I love diversity; biodiversity, diverse music, I'm into every cuisine, I love the nexus where cultural traditions, ancient wisdoms, science & mysticism are finding shared ground.
Prior to signing up with AirBnB, our family have been sharing our home for years, first we had a few travellers from Japan lodge with us, then we hosted english language students from Byron Bay's 2 english language schools. Since moving into our new home we have been Helpx homestay hosting a succession of travellers (similar to woofing). We enjoy the stimulation & connection that welcoming people into our home & sharing an exchange brings.
Grant & I have both travelled a lot in the past & will again, but for now staying put for a while is enriched by connections made with travelling folk, whether they are from the other side of the world or from up the road.
A life motto? 'Build it & they will come" comes to mind ; )
