Rent this apartment! It is in the perfect location, is much bigger than the photos show, clean, and has that old world charm inside that you want to experience while visiting this amazing historic city. I loved the feeling that I was actually living in the city for a week....not just visiting. Some things I actually really loved: 1. The big shuttered windows that open onto all three sides of the building! On one side you can see the Vatican wall to the right, the cobblestone street and sidewalk flow and to the left, sidewalk cafe directly one story below your window and another few to the right. I loved hearing the murmur of people walking by and talking musically in another language, the click of cups and saucers and plates as people below enjoyed cappuccinos and food. And the cross breeze across the flat windows was nice. The window/door on the other side of the flat in the kitchen opened to a lovely courtyard garden! A little balcony there made it especially quaint. 2. Safety and Security. Okay, really I never felt unsafe at all in this Vatican City part of town. Nice people, tourists, and lots of clergy walking around That being said.... this apartment is VERY secure. There is a first a locked gate to the courtyard, then the entrance to the building is always locked, then the heavy wooden (beautiful) door has multiple locks. Like I said, it seemed to be a very safe area, it still, being in a strange city made it feel comfortable to be in such a secure apartment. 3. The beds are very comfortable We even used the living room as a third bedroom (perfect cuz it closes off with French doors) and the sofa bed. That sofa bed was ACTUALLY comfortable. No metal support bars digging in your back or anything. 4. Ok. This will sound tacky, but we by accident discovered that across the street there is a vending machine that serves cappuccinos, espresso, etc for only 0.50 euros each. And we were surprised cuz we thought the cappuccino it dispensed was really good! Nice flavor, foam, and it even drops a little stirrer in your cup. At this cheap price, we got addicted to it. Lol. And the machine next to it has a packaged chocolate croissant for that 2 in the morning craving. 5. The Metro was just a couple short blocks away and only a couple stops to the Trevi fountain 5 stops to the Termini. ..... convenient. Or you can walk across the Briggs and to places like the Piazza Popollo Etc. my husband and daughter walked it. Once or twice. Got some beautiful nighttime photos from the Bridge. I'm lazier and took the metro or Uber. Uber is always nearby and usually 10-15 euros to get anywhere. They only offer Uber black no ride share. Also during busy times the price will jack up to 30 or 40 euros for the same ride cuz...

Windows on three(!) sides, exceptionally bright apartment. The kitchen balcony looks directly out onto greenery below - Gorgeous. Massimo's English is perfect and his manner could not be more frank or gentlemanly. Location is ideal for reaching all parts of Rome quickly: the metro station is three blocks walk, and Piazza Risorgimento is one block with a tram and many buses. From here we had a wealth of options not only for reaching the rest of the city quickly, but also returning quickly. On foot, I could be in Piazza Navona in under 15 minutes (and that's taking the time to salute St. Peter's Square instead of cutting diagonally across). The nightlife is lively but safe - the latest we stayed out, we were still surrounded by plenty of retirees out for a stroll in the neighborhood. The apartment is behind three locked doors, including the gated courtyard, giving a great feeling of security. Restaurants were plentiful and every block or so had it's corner food market (including a bigger supermarket two blocks away). This location also allowed us to keep a regular eye on the line into the Vatican Museums, allowing us to choose a day to go when the line was very short. That detail alone saved us an otherwise obligatory Vatican headache. Some nights outside got down into the 30's (Fahrenheit), and the apartment had more than enough heat to keep us comfortable. Keeping warm was never an issue.

Massimo and Clara both met us at our listing and made us feel very welcome. They even gifted us with a bottle of complimentary wine and had coffee for us to make in the morning! The home was clean, spacious, and had all the amenities we needed to make our stay comfortable, including a washing machine. Massimo even gave us recommendations on good places to eat! We thoroughly enjoyed opening the balcony doors off the kitchen and having a lovely courtyard below. The listing was very close to the Vatican.

We had a wonderful time at this apartment. The location was perfect being in walking distance of the Vatican, our favourite restaurant, a record shop and the metro. The flat has everything as advertised and with a sofa bed it allowed my father, sister and I to have our own rooms. A perfect location with a most friendly host who we won't hesitate to book from again.
