What a wonderful spot! Quiet but not too far from Weaverville as well as Asheville. Great access to hiking. Very well put together with many modern amenities but also had a very nice, unique feel to it. Would definitely stay here again!

I really can't say enough good things about staying at Leah's home. The house is cozy and spacious and well-appointed, the location is stunning and equally convenient to Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway, and Leah was promptly and marvelously helpful with everything we asked. We were only sorry we couldn't stay longer. As much as we loved the area, we'll likely visit again, and we'll be sure to schedule our trip such that we can stay there again.

We booked this house quite some time ago, as a getaway week with two of our closest friends. The house was as described: inviting, spacious, and well-appointed, with an awesome partially shaded deck overlooking a hardwood-lined meadow. When we weren't out touring the numerous brew houses and exploring Asheville's quirkiness, we just relaxed on the massive deck, talked, and played games. We listened to music on occasion, but the flatscreen TV never got turned on once. For us, it just wasn't necessary. The open floor plan means that the house breathes well, and the massive windows make you feel like you're outside. It's very relaxing. And, although this may sound strange, I do have to comment on the downstairs bedroom's shower. With two shower heads, vaulted ceilings, and more square footage than my first apartment, this shower is something you'd find at a high-end resort. The upstairs bedroom and layout is equally as nice, and it's quickly clear Leah put a lot of careful thought into her home. You could tell she was happy with how her house turned out when she stopped by to greet us on arrival. She took time to answer all our questions and make recommendations for our stay. The house is conveniently close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, so we were able to hike a couple of times. The Pinnacle Trail at Craggy Gardens was short but the 360 views at the Upper Summit were tremendous. We also hiked the either side of Craggy (can't recall the name), which was longer, steeper, and more challenging. The hiking was all the excuse we needed to justify driving into Asheville for a combo meal at #1-rated Farm Burger. If you really enjoy longer hikes, there are two or three intense and day-long hikes that are within a quick drive of Leah's house, and they are easily found online. Weaverville itself is quaint and inviting, with nice coffee shops, shopping, and eateries. The trip from the house to Weaverville's Main Street was quick, maybe about ten minutes or so. We found Blue Mountain Pizza on our last night there was a highlight, especially with a couple of old timers finger picking tunes to the packed house. All Good Coffee, just down from Blue Mountain Pizza, lived up to its name, as well. In addition to its charm, Weaverville's proximity to Asheville was one of the main reasons we chose to stay at Leah's home. If you're into craft beers, Asheville should be on your to-do list. We hit too many to count, but would put Burial and Highland near the top of the list. And, while not a "small" vendor, Sierra Nevada is absolutely the Disneyland of brewhouses with amazing beers and extremely tasty foods. It is a must-do if you speak "beer." This was a memorable trip for us. We had a great time and were truly fortunate to find Leah's home. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the area.

This was an amazing place to stay and Leah was so great!! I would highly recommend staying here. Not only is the surrounding area quaint without being too remote, the home itself is absolutely perfect for the area. Beautiful views of the mountain and fields in front of the home and a creek runs down the mountain behind the home. Leah was a great host & clearly went out of her way to make us feel at home.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful week-long vacation here. The location was golden, as we were able to spend some of our time hiking, some of our time exploring nearby cities (especially Asheville), and some of our time just lounging around or cooking at home. We had both seclusion and proximity. The home's design and environs were gorgeous, too, and helped us exhale. One thing that was important to us was having internet access so we could watch movies, YouTube, etc., and that was no problem; the home was equipped with Roku and fast wifi. Finding that balance of serenity and modern amenities can be difficult, so Leah's place was ideal for us.

Peace of mind, a healthy lifestyle, creative expression, exploring the world on foot, bicycle or horseback. Connecting with people. These are some of the things I enjoy.
After 17 years in Northern California, I decided it was time to return to my native roots in North Carolina in 2006 and rebuild those roots in the form of a house. Accomplished in 2008 my home reflects those years in California in it's openness to the natural beauty of this area.
