This is an RV site with wifi, 15A or 30A power, and water for motor homes or trailers < 27 ft in length. A septic hookup is available at this site for use of our water only. Amenities include wifi, shared fire pits, a rain sheltered kitchen sink and picnic tables, an outdoor flush toilet and a free outdoor hot shower. This is not a drive though site, you will need to back in to use the septic.

The space
This is a 6 acre campground is a forested rural residential neighborhood. Its about 1 kilometer off of the paved road. It is beautiful land with nice big trees and very few mosquitoes. Its an off-highway, semi-dead-end, so its usually quite quiet except for squirrels. Wild turkeys and deer often wander through the property. We do accept compost, but for garbage and recyclables, please take it back out with you.

Guest access
Guests may use the shared campground property except for the house and fenced areas. Shared campground facilities include the outdoor shower, community fire pit, picnic tables, and hammocks. Please read and follow the rules about Covid-19 safety. Reasonable use of the outdoor shower and toilets is free as long as they are left clean (see rules).

Other things to note
There is no cell phone coverage here. The nearest coverage is a 15 minute drive south to Crescent Valley or about an hour north to Silverton. There is no sani-dump on site. RV guests must dump prior to arrival and use their RV holding tank while here. The nearest sani-dump is at the Springer Creek RV Park at 1020 Giffin Avenue, in Slocan City, or others may be found in Nelson or Castlegar. Please make arrangements for dumping prior to arrival. The power supply to the RV site is limited to 30A. There are many guides available for activities in the area including water sports, climbing, skiing, hiking, artist tours, events, geology, mining, mushrooms, cannabis and garden tours, native history and lots more. There is a particularly valued native storyteller here that can also provide a walking tour to a nearby village site with a full scale replica of an aboriginal kekuli (earth house). Please call ahead for recommendations on booking guides or storytellers. You don't need one to get here, but its good to have a 4 wheel drive vehicle for some of the logging roads that are worth visiting. Roof and/or bike racks can also come in handy.

Location

Slocan Park, British Columbia, Canada

This is a quiet forested residential area in Sinixt territory. Recommended activities include Winter - skiing at Whitewater, Red Mountain , Kootenay Pass or the backcountry, cross country skiing on the rail trail, Summer - floating down the river, canoeing the lake, hiking or climbing in the Valhallas or visiting Nelson. We are surrounded by beautiful mountains and rivers. This valley has a very interesting (see Sinixt, Doukhobor and Slocan Valley) history and culture, and many outdoor activities and events. Nelson, Castlegar and Slocan Lake are all a half hour drive away. There are many other special places nearby such as the Goddess Pools and the Hippy Hole.

I believe that friends, time and freedom are the keys to happiness. Inviting my friends to live with me inspires me. I am developing a campground with gardens and gathering places for workshops and concerts. It is my intention to share this land with others while preserving its beauty, as best I can. I love to go dancing in Nelson, play music, bike riding, dog walking, and relaxing in a hammock or by the fire. Being outside in the Kootenays is therapy for me. I love to float on the river, swim, hike, grow stuff, stargaze and sleep. I am into deep relaxation, biosphere preservation, healing and conflict resolution. I enjoy kids, trading skills, building things, massage, drumming and potluck parties. I just want to celebrate this rare earth.
