We were delighted with all aspects of our stay. Giuseppe and Kelly are generous with their time and attention to ones needs. This is great accommodation which ad would happily use again.

This was one of the most amazing and magical family vacations I have ever had. Kelly and Giuseppe are the best hosts. From the moment we arrived they welcomed us as if we were family. They took care of our every need and advised us about things to do and places to see on the island and around the area. They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and to help us enjoy our trip. Every day we were treated to the most breathtaking view of the Mediterranean from the patio of our room and at night the gorgeous sunset. Every morning we were surprised and delighted by a buffet of fresh fruit salads, tomato and basil and olive salads, cheeses and eggs, breads, quiches, bread puddings, french toast, and other home made breakfast treats. And of course cappuccino or espresso and a variety of teas with honey grown by the local bees! Their family became part of our family, we fell in love with them and their spunky smart 2 year old son Sal- what a delight! Every night when we'd come back from a day of adventuring or healing at the local Therme we'd have dinner at the family owned restaurant. The BEST food I have ever tasted - everything fresh and home made - many of the ingredients come from the family Garden on the hillside behind the restaurant. The wine is also made right here from the family vineyard. Momma Tina is busy in the kitchen making home made pasta - you MUST try the raviolis in Rabbit gravy- it is sublime. Paulo makes all of the desserts and pastries - you have to try them all. Giuseppe drove us to town and to the beach and gave us a personal tour of the island including the history of how it evolved from his sleepy boyhood farm community to the bustling town full of healing water spas, restaurants and bars. He made sure my 17 year old son met other young people and had some fun adventures on his own too. He even arranged for me to have my first Italian lesson ! The rooms are big , clean and comfortable - with good wifi and large glass doors with stunning views. Everything was very clean and comfortable and the hotel staff is the best. The prices are also very reasonable. After my 2 weeks I decided that not only will I come back and spend time with this amazing family at their beautiful little hotel every year-- but I will bring my family back so my children and grand babies can enjoy the extraordinary experience with me. If you are looking for a laid back, down to earth "local" experience with real good hearted local people - this is the place for you - romantic and great for couples, family friendly for children - what a jewel!

It was wonderful staying at Hotel Poggio del Sole. The room was as it is on the photos, clean and bright. We had a wonderful view of the sea from our little cute terrace. Giuseppe was very helpful and attentive host. The hotel also has a small swimming pool and a hot tub. Family restaurant was just few steps away, where we ate delicious Ischitanian food (recommend pasta in lemon souse) at very reasonable prices. It is important to note that if you dont have a car/scooter, it is a ~20min walk uphill from the nearest port (totally worth to walk at least once because the neighborhood is very beautiful). However, if planned carefully, the place is quite easily reachable by public transport. Also, Giuseppe kindly offered to pick us up upon our arrival and whenever he was heading out to the city. Overall, I recommend the hotel. Thank you Giuseppe!

The stay was perfect, the hotel is ruled by a very nice family, always available for advice. They helped us to get a scooter (35e /day), to get a taxi to the port (15e) for the return and went to catch us at the port when we arrived. The hotel was in a nice neighborhood, the family restaurant attached to the hotel is delicious and at very accessible prices. The room we had has a very nice terrasse with a view on the city and the sea, the only thing is that the terrasses are only separated from your neighbors by few flowers, so there's not so much intimacy but its ok. The hotel is at few kilometers from the sea but they provide transportation in the morning and at night, and its really quick with a scooter. We had a perfect stay and certainly would like to come back again.
