Delightful compact 1930s cottage in the North Park. One of the most popular renaissance areas in and around San Diego. North Park has been listed # 13 on Forbes' list of the 'hippest' neighborhoods in the US, the area is a vibrant, diverse urban village with a life of its own. Sunny deck with BBQ for outdoor dining and relaxing. A 15 minute walk in either direction will give you the choice of 50 or more restaurants and coffee shops to choose from. *Uber & Lyft never more than 2 minutes away.

The space
The deck can be as private as you want, or it's also easy to interact with neighbours out for a stroll or walking their dogs.
Your home from home has was recently remodeled inside, with full kitchen, nicely equipped and a few ‘extras’!! TV with all the channels you’ll need: ESPN, Live EPL soccer, Disney Channel, Local, etc. Speedy WiFi. Just one mile from Balboa Park, San Diego Zoo, and a pleasant drive to downtown San Diego or Coronado Island, this location can't be beat.

Guest access
Just down the private path to the side of the cottage is the laundry, with washer and dryer.

Other things to note
Parking at weekends can be busy, but if guests give me an ETA I can leave my vehicle in a great spot outside the cottage.

Conventional supermarket two blocks away, and Sprouts, more produce and healthy foods, three blocks stroll. Coffee shops (including a Starbucks and a hip Coffee + Flowers), restaurants, modern and traditional bars, all walkable. Just two blocks away you'll find the Red Fox Restaurant which houses one of the oldest piano bars in San Diego, as well as fine steaks and seafood. A recently opened 'hip' restaurant, 100 Proof, offers a very reasonable menu, beers, wines, large screens and nice ambience. More new restaurants to be opened during summer of 2018, all walkable.

Originally from Manchester, England. After some time working on a cruise ship in and out of the US years ago, and marrying an American lady we spent a few more years back in the UK, and did a lot of travelling around Europe. On moving permanently to the US we bought a VW poptop bus in which we lived, and travelled the US and Canada for a year before settling down in this wonderful city of San Diego, and making a family. I bought this property in North Park in 1991. I was lured to North Park as it was barely beginning the renaissance it promised to go through 25 years ago. I have never regretted living in this part of San Diego as the area has become one of the most desired neighbourhoods in which to live. I particularly like the very appropriate description 'walkable neighbourhood'. During my own travels in various parts of the world I always sought out company of the real 'people' of the city, town or village I was visiting, such as B&Bs, or Pensions, or camping in the various countries, and felt that hosting Airbnb would give me an opportunity to meet people from the other side of the Welcome mat! Movie: Memento; Book: Into Thin Air; Play: Breaking The Code; Music: Eclectic, but The Stones and Jagger RULE; Food: Could not even live without Indian Curry. Team: Manchester United (my religion!!)
