Local Area:
Balham and Tooting are super places to explore great bars and restaurants and quirky shops and coffee shops. Many of the coffee shops sell organic foods and great breakfasts.

Coffee Shop Recommendation:
Just by the flat there is "Delight Bakery" Fantastic coffee, and "The French Cafe" yummy food, both for breakfast and dinner.
Closer to Balham station, I would recommend
"MIlk" in the market street the food is wonderful or "Lavish Habit" a little further up the same road from the station are definite favourites - great food and super atmosphere.

Pub Recommendation:
There are many great pubs in this area, but id recommend The Balham Bowls Club (BBC) just off the high road, great little place with a sunny garden, great interior and super food.

Food Shopping:
We are also very lucky to have a range of supermarkets include an organic store and Waitrose.

Getting Around:
The public transport links into central london and the South East of England are great from Balham. Balham not only has the Northern Line, but the train to Clapham Junction which links to London Victoria, London Bridge and to the South East England, such as Gatwick, Surrey, Brighton, Dorset etc.

Hopes apartment is in a lovely neighbourhood with many amazing cafes and just steps from the tube into central London. I would stay again given the chance. The only thing I would note is that there are a few steps to the apartment and they are a bit steeps, also there is only a bath no shower. Other than that it is a beautiful flat that I would definitely recommend :)

Comfortable, quiet accommodation which is close to good coffee, restaurants and the tube. Cooking facilities adequate and WiFi reception in lounge excellent, less so in the bedroom. Stairs to flat quite steep. We would consider returning if the opportunity arose.

Hope's flat was such a lovely place to stay for a week. Perfectly located near the tubes and above a lovely bakery; everything at your doorstep. The flat itself was so interesting, full of quirky things and it was so peaceful and calm. A really lovely place to stay.

Hope's home is absolutely lovely in a sort of fashion afficianado meets shabby chic way. For a lazy traveller it has another distinct advantage in being falling over distance from a lovely bakers, french style cafe and Bodeans ribs place - three square meals a day without having to lift a finger. Highly recommended .

I am a fashion stylist based in London I work regularly in Paris and travel extensively. I have rented places all over the world with air b and b meeting great people, I love the way this type of renting works. I love french cinema, dogs, car boot sales and vintage clothing…
