I would love to share my large comfortable home with travelers.I have recently returned from 5 months in South America where i was reminded of the importance of finding friendly hosts with local knowledge and somewhere to relax and get a good sleep.

The space

Spacious, light filled home, just a 5 minute walk away from gorgeous Waihi Beach. Only 2 hours drive from Auckland International Airport, 1 and a half hours drive from Hamilton and 45 minutes drive to Tauranga and Mount Maunganui. Two large,. immaculately clean and private rooms with queen size beds and one room with two king single beds, a full bathroom with 2 separate WC.s , plus a private lounge area available.

A delicious breakfast of homemade granola, fruit and sourdough toast, with homemade jam is included, and can be served either on the deck or in the dining room.

Wireless internet is available throughout the house, and use of the washing machine is available.

The house is on a quiet street with a small village less than a 5 minute walk away where you will find a grocery store, shops, cafés, post office, etc.

There are two buses a day from Auckland to Tauranga that come through Waihi Beach. Or if you have a car, there is plenty of off street parking.

I am an expert on local outdoor activities and can suggest nearby fantastic walks/hikes in Karangahake Gorge, the nearby Kaimai Forest Park, and the Hauraki Cycle Trail. I have also traveled extensively throughout New Zealand and am happy to advise you about many special and less known places.

As an avid traveler, I understand what can make a trip extra special - a warm welcome, advice when needed, clean and comfortable rooms, and privacy.

I look forward to welcoming you to my home and beautiful Waihi Beach which is situated at the base of the Coromandel Peninsula and 45 minutes drive from Tauranga and Mount Maunganui.

We enjoyed our stay with Jane. she is a very welcoming and thoughtful host. We felt relaxed and comfortable. House is large so plenty of room to spread about. Located within walking distance to shops and cafes and the beach. Would recommend.

My wife and I stayed at Jane's BnB for two nights were treated like royalty with fresh OJ in the morning and homemade muesli and fruit and so much more :) the home is walking distance to the town and the beach making for the perfect getaway destination. We highly recommend staying at the home away from home. Jane is lovely host and is very knowledgable about the area.

Our experience in New Zealand was enhanced by our time staying with Jane. She was welcoming even when we arrived late, and made sure we were taken care of for the evening. She was full of knowledge about the area and gave us some really great tips. We stayed with Jane for 3 nights and felt comfortable every minute. Her home is clean and comfortable, a perfect spot for a beach stay. We had a great time!

Jane was a very attentive and nice host. Not only did she welcome us with tea/coffee and home made cake, she also took time to talk to us, explain to us the area and New Zealand specifics and provide us with various different maps for hiking in the coromandel area. Breakfast good with muesli, fresh fruit, bread with several spreads and plenty of coffee. The room was small and simple but very clean and absolutely sufficient, as the place also has a big living area that can be shared with other guests.

Jane was our first stop after a long journey from the states. She was a warm, smiley face welcoming us into her beautiful home. The house smelled like fresh baked goods and then she informed us that was the muesli for our breakfast in the morning. When we got settled it was after 9pm and asked if she knew of anything that would be open for a bite to eat. She graciously called around and found us somewhere to eat. Jane was fantastic; breakfast was fresh, filling and so delicious; and the overall accommodations were just perfect.

Jane was an excellent host and went out of her way to provide guidance and suggestions that were suitable to the specific requirements of each of the guests staying with her. She made you feel very welcome and even provided a great breakfast including making the muesli, providing fruit, daily papers etc. It was like a home away from home. The location is ideal with an amazing beach only a few blocks away and many great eateries near by. the district has a lot of interesting places to visit and it was a great base for a holiday. I will definitely stay there if I ever get back to this area in the future.

We loved staying at Jane's beautiful house. It was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. Bedding was first rate, and the situation of the house was perfect - only a five minute walk to a lovely beach. Jane made us a wonderful breakfast, and we fell asleep to the enchanting smell of rhubarb pie baking. (She left one for us to devour, and it was delicious.) We were thinking of our return, before even a day had passed. Highly recommended, and we staying at 10 different airbnb houses during this trip through NZ, so we had lots of comparisons.

I love the outdoors and making the most of the beautiful country I live in. Travel to meet people of different cultures and discovering their customs and food excites me but when at home I enjoy pottering in my garden, cooking fresh produce or swimming in the sea.
I love music, reading and hiking and am never happier than when in the outdoors in nature.
If you stay in my home you will be made welcome, provided with as much local information as you require and you will be able to relax or be pointed in the direction of the next adventure if you so wish.
