This C. 1800 brick cape sited on 38 acres overlooking its own vineyard and rolling southwest facing fields to a view of the church steeple in the nearby hamlet of S. Reading and distant hills beyond. The home is perfectly suited for a whole family or gathering of friends who are spending time together for an overnight/weekends/holidays/a week or a month!

The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances to entertain a group. Place settings for ten are provided. Also provided are: Four-slice toaster, 12-cup coffee pot, Kitchen Aid mixer, blender, cutting boards, crock pot, pots and pans, cookie sheets, baking dishes and utensils. There is a microwave, double ovens and a 5 burner cooktop as well as an outdoor gas grill on the covered front porch.

The master bedroom is on the first floor with adjoining master bath. There are two bedrooms upstairs that share a full bath. The ‘bunk room’ has a queen size bed and two single beds. The ‘grey room’ has a queen size bed. The office, also on the first floor, has a comfy futon available.

A washer/dryer and powder room are located in the mudroom/entryway. Towels, linens, ironing board and iron, blow dryers are all conveniently provided.

Enjoy all that the area has to offer 4 seasons of the year. Just minutes in either directions brings you to a major ski resort. Killington’s Skyeship Gondola is only a 30 minute drive, and Okemo Mountain is even closer, at about 20 minutes. Cross Country Skiing is nearby as well, at Wilderness Trails in Quechee and Woodstock Ski Touring Center, both within 20-30 minutes.

Not ski season? Not a skier? Skating, lakes, foliage, antiquing, restaurants, hiking, theater, all easily accessible from this getaway. Set in rural Vermont enjoy the many activities nearby, or as many of our guest do, simply enjoy a quiet moment on the stone patio or by the fire. The surrounding area offers ample opportunities for fishing, mountain biking, hiking, hand gliding, balloon rides and local highlights like Simon Pearce, Harpoon Brewery, Billings Farm, Town of Woodstock and Dartmouth University in Hanover, New Hampshire.

The perfect countryside escape. Beautiful, comfortable, and well equipped home, surrounded by spectacular Vermont scenery. Christine was very responsive and Doug made the check in and check out process very easy. Thank you for a great long weekend, and Doug, for the complimentary wine! Highly recommended.

Great stay! Very comfortable for our 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids). We enjoyed playing outside with the kiddos. Doug (the manager) came over and shared several yummy bottles of wine with us and was very kind and welcoming. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The area was quiet but we found a small market about 10 minutes away and had a lovely time at Echo Lake.

We checked in on Friday and we were pleasantly greeted by a warm fire. Doug who I believe is the house's care taker went over the particulars of the house and also offered a bottle or two of their house wine. The house itself was very well kept, tastefully updated and is a perfect example of a Vermont countryside home. Highly recommended if you want a quiet getaway but still wish to be close to the popular skiing attractions. Our family will definitely be staying again!

Christine's place was beautiful and true to the pictures on the AirBnB page. The hospitality from Doug and Christine was great - I would definitely recommend the place to friends for any ski trips to Okemo or Killington. Hopefully my friends and I will be back again in the future for another trip.

We had a great time staying at Christine's farmhouse. It is on a beautiful piece of property with pleasant views, a quiet dirt road for walking, and a vineyard across the street. Doug, the vineyard manager, met us and was a great host. The house was beautiful with lots of sun. A great combo of old farmhouse and modern design. We loved it and hope to stay there next year again.

I'm not originally from VT but consider myself a Vermonter. I'm a road cyclist, swimmer and an avid reader. In 2010, a vineyard was planted. Our own wine has been aging since 2012. Our wines are for personal consumption. Summers, a huge vegetable garden is planted. Lastly, maple…
