Walking distance to Coromandel Town (5 mins) yet surrounded by countryside!
A quiet and cozy home away from home atmosphere. The main room has your own entrance, a Queen size bed & a single bed as well as a table & chairs, microwave, small fridge, kettle & toaster. A private outside seating area & charcoal BBQ
I do not use your bathroom amenities but the washing machine & dryer there are shared by me but ONLY used by me while you're OUT. Unlimited WiFi. Acoustic guitar available if you ask me

The space
The studio accommodation is set up so that you have your own private entrance and private space, with everything you might need, whether or not I am home at the time of your arrival.
There is a small fridge ( no freezer) a toaster and kettle, a microwave and a charcoal BBQ to be used in your private courtyard which has seating.
I provide organic plunger coffee, tea and green tea. I do not provide breakfast however there are great food places in town.

There is a washing machine, dryer, drying rack and iron for your use at no extra charge.
It is a perfect retreat for a couple, with room for an extra adult or child.
There is an electric panel heater in your room and a fan heater in the bathroom.
Please look in all the cupboards, baskets and drawers, you'll find I have tried to provide all you might need. Please also message me if you would like something. It is easy enough for me to respond to your requests while you're staying. If I'm not home I'm never far away.

Three guests maximum. Pet friendly - there is a separate foyer between your room and the bathroom which provides space for a pet bed and any outdoor gear as well. Pets, adults and children also appreciate the riverside reserve with a swimming hole across the road. We have a cat and also a large friendly dog who will likely bark on guest arrival, just so you know :)
The space you're in adjoins my home and is essentially the 2nd bedroom of my home, with it's own entrance. The bathroom amenities are alone for your use ( shower, toilet, handbasin) but within the large bathroom is a washing machine and dryer and tub. I will occasionally use the washing machine when you are OUT. The door to your room is lockable so your security is not compromised.
There is a dining area in the main room ( bedroom) as well as outside table.
There is also a small fridge along with a kettle for hot water and a toaster and a microwave These are for your enjoyment and convenience. Otherwise there is NO cooking permitted inside the room. I'm mentioning this because I have had occasional guests cook with a portable gas cooker in the room which is not legal ( it states on the cooker only to be used outside regarding gas fumes) and also as the dining area is in the room with the beds, cooking smells stink up the bedroom and furnishings. I do have a portable charcoal BBQ for cooking OUTSIDE in your private patio area, which is great if you want to grill.
Please message me with any issues or requirements as I'm happy to assist where possible.

Guest access
Guests have 2 separate outdoor areas to use, one is covered and at the entrance, where my front door and the door to your space is- This is a shared spot as my entrance goes from there too, but there is a small seat and table for your use, it is a sunny afternoon space and also a covered space if raining. Smoking is permitted outside only. The other outside space is only accessible from your room, with outdoor seating and charcoal BBQ. It has a bamboo fence which gives some privacy from the neighbours and the recycling area. It has afternoon sun and french doors which open into your space. Smoking is permitted outdoors only.
Aside from the main room and your courtyard just mentioned, there is a foyer and large private bathroom for your use. The laundry in your bathroom is used by the house owner without interrupting your privacy. I only use the laundry facilities while guests are out. The door between the foyer and your room is lockable so although I have access to the laundry while you're out I do not have access to your room.
*Please note there is a step up to the shower and a step up to the main entrance, the accommodation is best suited to persons of normal agility. Unfortunately the access is not suitable for disabled persons, or anyone who has trouble walking or needs assistance with steps, my apologies.

Other things to note
Coromandel has a lot to offer. Thank you to all the guests who have come to stay with us when we operated as The Lions Den Hostel in the past, we will always remember the good times had by all :) the hostel building, which is another house on the same property has had a rebirth as a happy family home again. What was once the hostel villa is rented to long term tenants now. Although the place is surrounded by 3 sides countryside down a quiet dead end street we do have neighbours. The second house which is rented out to long term tenants is on the same property. Parking is across the street. You can unload things from the driveway when you arrive and then park in the parking area across the road. It is nice to still be able to offer a small retreat for a few fellow travellers on the road in this beautiful area.

Hi I'm a friendly relaxed person. I work from home doing remedial massage therapy. I have a cat. I am well travelled and love travelling, I speak German as well as English and a tiny bit of Italian and French. I have 4 wonderful adult children. My hobby is sculpture, specifically casting in glass. I am interested in A R T in all forms and my passion is my work which I love.Alongside my healing work I am also a voice over artist. I am an open, honest and optomistic person. I sell organic skincare and offer organic ayurvedic facials along with deep tissue massage and pranic healing treatments as well as TBT. My style of hosting is to expect you to be fairly independent. I am happy to help with local knowledge and travel tips for Coromandel and NZ. Although I've travelled widely and lived in Europe several times I love New Zealand. Sometimes my work takes me out of the country in which case I have wonderful co-hosts Marthe and Sy who live on site at those times and can help out with any AirBnB requests and bookings. Magnesium chloride oil spray ( highly beneficial for health) is available for purchase at my premises. The organic skincare I use and am affiliated to is available in $NZ, $AU and $US through my web store (Website hidden by Airbnb) I look forward to meeting the guests that come through, I have made some great connections with some lovely people from all around the planet. Welcome.

During your stay
I'm a hands off host, preferring to give my guests space to enjoy their time in the private retreat I offer, however I am available for questions and to help you settle in. I have a Therapeutic Massage business which I operate on site, in a separate building - in which case if you book an appointment I am indeed 'hands on'. I also work off site at Mana retreat centre and am often not home or at home working when guests arrive. Because I am in an appointment with a client while at work -I am not always available to immediately answer a text or phone call. However I am available within an hour at the latest. When at Mana retreat there is often no reception however I do let guests know if I'm out of cell phone range beforehand and the times I will be back. I have set up the space so that you can have access to all you need without my input. My style of hosting is to allow you to be fairly independent. I am happy to help with local knowledge and travel tips for Coromandel and NZ.
