The Nest is two cheery, cozy units on the 3rd floor of an old hotel building with no elevator. The units are each equipped with a small kitchenette, dining area, TV with Netflix, and lots of nooks to work from. The Forest and Ocean Nest are situated beside each other, and though we mostly rent these separately- we’re open to renting to larger groups as long as the noise level can be kept to a minimum. Both units look out to the rainforest, and have a partial view of Triboa Bay just beyond.

The space

We designed this space to be a retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are several nooks to lie back and relax - read a book, write a novel, or conquer the world from your laptop.

We're on the 3rd floor of an old hotel with no elevator. The parking lot is located right next to the building. Shaded parking areas can be found a little further away. Walking to the apartment, you will be rewarded with a partial view of the nearby Triboa Bay. Once you get to the units, you'll find that the view is partially blocked by the rainforest. It provides us with good shade and keeps the Nest cool on hot afternoons.

The Nest is made up of two units - The Forest Nest and the Ocean Nest - each with two adjoining rooms. Each room has a door leading to the building's main hallway, and one wall has jalousied windows looking out to the hallway, the forest, and the bay beyond. Each room is equipped with an AC unit and a ceiling fan. In one room is the Dining, Living, and Kitchen area where the Bathroom, TV, and sofabeds are located. In the other room is the Bedroom with two beds and a hammock.

The Bathrooms are designed in such a way that it's possible for two people to make use of them at the same time. A small hallway leads to the toilet, while the shower area is curtained off. The sink is located in the kitchenette area.

The Kitchenettes are small but functional. There's cold drinking water in the fridge for our guests. Subic Water is potable, and we also have a chlorine filter installed in the sink for drinking water. There's an electric stove for cooking, and a couple of pots and pans. There is a toaster in the cabinet closest to the bathroom door.

Guest access

The Nest is your private home for the duration of your stay.

Unlike a hotel, we don't have any single use items for you to take home. We use large boxes and rolls of tissues etc to limit the amount of trash we generate, and we provide several items to make your stay more comfortable. Please refrain from taking home any extra food, tissues, toiletries or other items we provide. Those items are meant to be used in the Nest and should last for several batches of guests.

We have some personal items on display and locked in the closets. There is a lockable cabinet available for your use. It's the one closest to the back door in the bedroom! :)

The kitchen is stocked with tea, bread, butter, eggs, bananas, cereal, muesli, milk, coffee, cooking oil, rice, and potable water. Help yourself to whatever you want, and leave the rest for other guests!

The Nest is equipped with fiber internet, and you will have access to Netflix for the duration of your stay. Because we live in such a woody area, sometimes our internet connection is disconnected by monkeys or falling trees. Unfortunately, there's not much we can do until the service provider sends a repair crew. Let us know if something is not working, and we'll get it looked at as soon as possible.

Feel free to read from our library, but please return the books where you found them before heading home. :)

The pool is located behind Tiara building, which is the white building down the road. It's a short walk, and you will be well rewarded once you get there!

Interaction with guests

We live 20 minutes from the Nest so feel free to call us for anything, and we'll get you sorted out. If we don't answer right away we're probably in the water but we'll get back to you as soon as we can!

Crown Peak Hotel is home to mostly foreign tenants. They are quite friendly and may approach you for a chat. Please be nice to them! We like to maintain a good relationship with our neighbours.

Other things to note

We’re very selective about large groups- we can’t have any noise issues with our neighbors. Please keep the noise level to a minimum, and avoid loitering in the hallway.

We don’t recommend the Nest for children under the age of 7. There are a lot of breakables in the unit, and the hallway railing is not very child proof- unattended children might have accidents. Our neighbors are also very sensitive to noise, and we can’t have noisy kids or crying babies in the middle of the night. If you insist on bringing your child anyway, please look after him/her at all times.

We can help set you up with surfing, sailing, yoga, forest survival, island hopping, or guided trail hikes. Let us know ahead of time so we can arrange these for you.

We have 2 mountain bikes available for rent. Please let us know in advance so we can bring them over to the unit. Rent is P500/day/bike.
