This house is roomy and living areas are open. It has 2 dining tables and a large kitchen. Being located beside an apple orchard and mowed meadow area allows for views to enjoy birds and other wildlife and sometimes the neighbors horses.

If you are planning to visit Yosemite we highly advise you to visit https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/covid19.htm so that you have current information in regards to car reservations or other details.

The space
This spacious and lovely 3 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house with 1 king and 2 queen beds, large rock fireplace and deck is in a setting of both meadow and apple orchard only 28.3 miles (approximately 45 minutes) to the west gate (Big Oak Flat entrance) of Yosemite National Park and another 24 miles (approximately another 45 minutes) to the valley floor. There is basic internet for texting and a land line phone. It's a great place to relax and spread out after your visit to the magnificent but popular Yosemite.

Nearby are waterfalls and swimming holes to which you can bicycle or drive and local trails to hike or bicycle. In late summer to early autumn you can pick apples outside your door or in fall enjoy the beautiful golden oak leaves, or in winter the sunshine, rain or snow. After a fresh air walk outside enjoy cozying up to the fireplace or wood stove for a cup of something hot. You may be fortunate enough to see wild life outside the lodge if you keep attentive to the outdoors.

We consider ourselves the unofficial tour guides of Yosemite and can give you many tips on other places to see or enjoy in our own Mariposa County, or neighboring Tuolumne or Calavaras counties.

Please contact us for any questions. We look forward to personally welcoming you to our quiet country abode.

Guest access
Complete house.

Other things to note
Keep this in mind that if at all possible stay a minimum of 3 nights. So many of our guests have wished for just a little more time to enjoy not only Yosemite but our surrounding area. There is really so much to see, do and enjoy.

Our wifi is not the speediest but should do the what you need with text but not video as it uses our limited data very rapidly.

The property area surrounding the house is limited to the the driveway on the entry side, rocks on the 2nd side, 2 rows of apple trees and an adjacent apartment on the 3rd side. The areas beyond these open borders are the neighbor's property.

Our neighbors are friendly and often will generally wave even if they don't know you. We are celebrating our somewhat newly paved road so no more bumpy ride the last mile to the Meadow View Lodge!

We have a hardware/and basic grocery store open 8-7 in summer and 8-6 in winter, and a Chevron gas stations just 3 miles away. There is a more complete grocery store in Groveland about 16 miles away. In Greeley Hill there is 9 Diamonds BBQ restaurant (7 minutes or 3.5 miles away) In Coulterville just 20 minutes or 6 miles away is the Gold Country Bistro and the Coulter Cafe and many more in Groveland (16 miles away) Big Oak Flat and Buck Meadows (about 13.6 miles away.)

Generally the area is quiet but occasionally our neighbors drive by with their tractor or quads and can have outside activities with some motor homes parked maybe 200 yards away, sometimes on holiday weekends.

My husband and I are in our mid fifties and sixties, have no children but a 7 year old German Shepherd. We have lived in the Coulterville/ Greeley Hill area for 30 years and love our beautiful mountains. We enjoy the outdoors and have an active lifestyle. It gives us great pleasure seeing others enjoy themselves in this beautiful place. Our neighbors and town are just like the sign says entering it, "Elevation: Just Right, Population: Friendly" When walking or bicycling on Dogtown Road it is fun to wave to neighbors as they pass, or talk over the fence. We enjoy traveling as well and often go south to Mexico in the winter to "warm up" and sometimes north to Alaska in the summer for a short stint of fishing. Even if we are out venturing when you come, we make sure our guests are well taken care of.
