We were welcomed warmly by our host as we arrived for a 4 night stay in this beautiful cottage in peaceful country surroundings. The hospitality was generous with home made soda bread and local plum jam. For a non whiskey drinker normally, the superb Irish whiskey was a real treat in its mellow palate. Our host was so helpful with local guidance, and the Horse and Jockey down the road (in the village of the same name) an added bonus for a drink and a meal out. The cottage is cosy and well appointed. Close to motorway access and a range of interesting historical sites. All to be recommended ~ wifi marginal but could be used at the Horse and Jockey. Thankyou! Catherine and Pip from New Zealand

This cottage is one to remember. The hostess was absolutely perfect and the cottage quaint and big enough for a family with two children.

Perfect, perfect, perfect. I actually hesitate to give the great review this place deserves so it won't be booked up when we want to return! :-) Maura is an amazing, friendly and welcoming host and the cottage is adorable and comfortable: fantastic kitchen/dining/living area with stone walls, back patio overlooking the fields, plenty of room, centrally-located so many sites are within an easy day-trip drive -- we hated to leave and hope very much to come back some day. Thank you, Maura!!

The cottage was clean, private and well-equipped. It was located behind the main house in its own courtyard. Wifi was strong. Ask for a demonstration on how to use the washer/dryer unit. Easy access to the M8 motorway (exit 6 at Thurles/Horse & Jockey). The Horse & Jockey Hotel with excellent restaurant and pub is just minutes away. Communication and assistance from our host was excellent. Highly recommended, we'd stay again.

Nice cottage surrounded by green lawns and fields, quite large for 4 guests. The host (Maura) greeeted us warmly, fresh scones and milk were ready for us at the kitchen. It was really, really nice. There is all necessary and well working kitchen equipment. The location is quite convenient, several sightseeings and interesting towns (including Cashel Castle, Cahir and Kilkenny) may be easily achieved by M8 which is only 5 min. of driving from the house.

Interaction with guests

The cottage is located behind the main house, but is surrounded by old stone walls and very private. The family living in the house will be available at all times should the guests wish to interact. The family are very friendly and sociable and love meeting new people.
