Jillian's home is a truly amazing & inspirational space. I have never been in to a house built of straw bales before, but a night in this cosy, warm, tranquil space has left me a convert. I would move in if I could! Definitely the best place we stayed on our rail trail trip.

Great little spot for adventuring in central Otago. Jillian was lovely and incredibly accommodating. The bath is absolutely stunning after a long day on the trails. That paired with a great fire is always a win!

We arrived at the strawbale house just ahead of the snow. Woke up to a white blanket outside. The house was warm and snug inside, and so was the welcome from Jillian. We stayed for three lovely nights.

A strawbale house, built by Jillian and her family/friends in the very small town of Oturehua. I great spot to read a book by the fire and enjoy the serenity. Great proximity to the rail trail. Highly recommended for people looking for more unique/alternative accommodation.
