Guest access

• Access is down a country dirt road and through a nondescript 12' cattle gate
• RV's, motor boats, jet skis, kayaks, canoes, etc. are all welcome
• If host is present, an all-wheel-drive SUV may be used for launching watercraft onto 70-acre lake

• Host respects the privacy and dynamics of your party; interaction with guests may be as little or much as you prefer
• Host may or may not be present and, if so, sleeps in separate quarters

Other things to note

• The spirit of Camp Declan is to disconnect from the pressures of modern life and re-connect with self, friends, family, fresh air and authentic Florida nature.
Sit and marvel at the wildlife which teems in this private forest, take a run on your jet ski or it's perfectly okay to just steal a nap in the hammocks!
• This is an unpretentious deep South lodging option with great potential for group fun. It is not a commercial, brand-name hotel but a "lake house" so it has plenty of imperfections, which we call "character". Those expecting spotless floors, a pampered experience or a citified environment may find other options more suitable. Thank you.

This place rocks. It was the perfect place for our laid back bachelor party weekend. Plenty of room to entertain a group of 15. Declan was a great host. He responded quickly to any and all questions we asked. He made it clear that he was available for anything we needed and wanted to ensure we had a great visit. My whole group agrees that we would love to return again.

I booked this cabin for a boys bachelor party. From what I was told, it was absolutely amazing. The beds were comfortable, had great A/C, and plenty of out door activities to keep the guys entertained. This was a great pick for the guys since they were going to the Gators vs. LSU game. Did some tailgating and watched the game. Came back for a bonfire and some night fishing. I plan on coming to the cabin with the family from all the positive feed back I got from everyone.

We stayed several days at the camp and were very comfortable for the duration of our stay. We were evacuating for Hurricane Irma and were very limited in what we could bring. We felt fortunate that there were little things on hand that made the process easier, like seasonings and cookware, to be able to cook and otherwise take care of ourselves. The lake is beautiful and there are boats that you can use. The fire pit was another great unexpected benefit of the camp, as we used it as a source of entertainment and cooking. The main house is comfortable and the bunkhouse is great for hanging out. We only had five people but it would have been a great experience if we had had an extra twelve. I would highly recommend this as an Airbnb and my family hopes that we can visit again in the future.

Camp Declan was a wonderful place to connect with nature and relax with family and friends. It is rustic, so if you are looking for luxury, this isn't for you. However, my family and I were wanting a place where we could all be together but also spread out a little. We ranged in ages from 10-70. The lake offers fishing, kayaking and swimming to cool off. The bunk house is super cool! It has a ping pong table and plenty of space for sleeping! The cabin does not currently have AC in the bedrooms (there is a window unit in main area), but Declan did say that he is planning to add air to his improvements in the near future. We had a really great time at this lake house!!

My friends and I had a great time here enjoying nature and celebrating a birthday. Some people were a little apprehensive about the bunk house prior to arrival, but everyone ended up loving it once they got to see it. We spent the day enjoying the lake, and spent the evening hanging out in the multiple seating areas outside. I highly recommend this place to anyone!

What a beautiful property. My family and I had a great time. My kids loved it so much that they want to come back every year and make it a tradition and I agree.

...but my friends call me Deck... ...Florida native and professional with career of 25 years in economic development and real estate. There is little I enjoy more than the groundedness I feel when at Camp. Consequently, I'm trying to see if Airbnb will help me share "Camp joy"…
