Great place to stay and explore Detroit. Everything I wanted to do was within close proximity. I sincerely appreciate that Gene went out of his way to get an iron when I didn’t find one already at the Airbnb. Definitely recommend this spot.

Overall the place was decent. The bed was very comfortable, but if you are going to be spending any time relaxing there beyond sleep be aware that there is only patio furniture to sit on in the living room. Bathroom was very nice and recently remodeled, kitchen was satisfactory…

Clearly Keyan doesn’t know a thing about Detroit.

Good location, close to Corktown and Detroit downtown. Full kitchen with lots of pots and pans. The apartment is in an old house but it is nicely renovated and clean. Plenty of street parking right in front of the house. I would stay there again when I'm back to the area.

Response from Gene:
Not exactly. This is a fourplex that once was a mansion until around 1950’s. Each apt. is metered, well established as a multi-unit dwelling - a true apartment buiiidng now. I don’t want anyone to think it’s some slapped together “old house”. Thanks for choosing us though! You were a terrific guest!

Gene does it all really well. From a clean, uncluttered, and cozy space to a comfortable bed with fresh linens to lightning quick communication, it is hard to imagine what else he could improve on. This was my third stay in one of Gene’s properties, and hopefully not my last.

Perfect spot to grab some tacos and visit El Club in Detroit. Honestly you are a 11 dollar uber from everything. Will stay again for sure

We had a nice stay at Gene’s place and it’s exactly as advertised. Very clean and included all the basic amenities needed for a pleasant stay. Parking is plentiful outside and close to Mexicantown. Would definitely recommend Gene’s place.

Clean apartment, great queen beds, and a fun location in an up-and-coming Detroit neighborhood! Definitely check out the restaurant "El Barzon" which is my favorite restaurant in Mexicantown.
