The town has a nice park with playground equipment renovated in 2017, basketball hoop and ball diamond.
Alta Vista is frequently referred to as "The Friendly Town." We invite you to visit the area and experience how we earned the title!
Guests will have access to the entire house during their stay.
Interaction with guests
Since the house is ready for your stay and you will have access with the code you've selected, it is likely we may not see you during your stay. We are, however, generally available by phone, text or e-mail should you need something. We also live within a few blocks of the property and our address can be found on material at the house.
Other things to note
A second guesthouse, The Recker House, is located directly across the street, should you be looking for additional short term housing.
Upon leaving, we ask that our guests place their garbage in the containers located in the garage and return dishes, etc. to their locations. While we expect to do laundry and general cleaning, we ask that guests leave the house in generally clean condition--doing so helps us keep our rates low! Additional, should something become broken or damaged (beyond normal wear and tear), we ask guests to contact us before they leave. Items and equipment at the house are to remain at the house.
While we do not rent the property for bachelor or bachelorette events, we welcome family gatherings and celebrations to the property. Smoking is permitted outside and in the garage, but not in the house. No pets are allowed in the house but can be kenneled in the garage.
Small town born and raised, we've opted to remain in the area throughout our careers. In addition to full time occupations, we operate several rental properties, including three furnished homes through which we provide short term rentals. We enjoy furnishing the homes and helping to provide get away experiences for others--and we sometimes use the homes ourselves and for the lodging of our own out of town guests!
We've discovered that grandkids are about the best thing that can ever happen ... what a reward for raising kids of your own!
