The space

There are two gites here at La Cirounié and whilst the laundry area and some of the grounds are shared with the other gite great thought has been given to enabling both properties to have privacy with their own private patios.

This lovely little gite has a master bedroom with a great view over the fields. The pretty tiled shower room is situated next to the bedroom then you pass through into the kitchen and lounge.

The gite is compact yet clearly thought out to optimise space and comfort.

Double patio doors open from the living area out on to a private terrace which has superb views across the rolling countryside. You can sit here for hours just watching the wildlife and soaking up the peace and quiet.

It has been a deliberate decision not to put a telephone connection, internet or tv into the property as its charm is the peace and quiet to be found here. (For those who have to have internet access - you can use the local library in Pampelonne, and there is wifi at the café situated at the camp site by the river).

There are many waymarked paths to take to explore the area on foot, staying high for the views or dropping into the valley to discover hidden gems like the forgotten church at Las Planques.

When you feel like joining the world again we are just 5 minutes drive from the RN88 - whisking you away to local market towns and historical cities such as Rodez and Albi.

You have your own private gite and patio and garden area. The rest of the grounds are shared with the second gite along with parking and laundry facilities.

We live off site 5 mins drive away - so we can be with you if you need us but otherwise you are there to enjoy the peace and quiet on your own.

The views from the patio are just amazing - so quiet and tranquille, you can sit on the patio eating breakfast in the sunshine and watch the wildlife undisturbed.

You do need your own transport here - although there are great walks straight from the front door.
Nearest airport is Rodez - and we are just 1hr 20 from Toulouse.

The property is a quiet retreat and as such does not have TV or Internet. Should you need to collect emails there is free wifi at the camping café down the road or you can have wifi at our house 5 minutes away.

Extraordinary gîte, setting and hosts. The little gîte is absolutely perfect for a restful quiet stay to take in nature and the best of the French countryside. The location is ideal. Everything was lovely and very well cared for. The setting is absolutely amazing, from the rolling hills to the marvelous sunsets, and the wonderful walks around the gorge and to the river -- all right out the door. Julie and Andy were hands down the best hosts we have ever had, they went well above and beyond what is required, from accommodating our every request to answering our multitude of questions about the area - to helping us think through buying a second home in the area. They are awesome and also own a spectacular set of gîtes very close by which sleep up to 21 people in a very private quaint setting - with a huge swimming pool. We will for sure bring our extended families back for a reunion there! Thank you so much. We cannot recommend highly enough both the gîtes and the hosts. This is exactly how Airbnb is supposed to work!

We met Julie at her lovely home and she took us to the lovely gite. It has stunning view of the hills and great walks to do in and around the area. It has no wifi, which was a welcomed change for us. Julie gave us great tips of the surrounding villages/where to eat etc. The gite is warm and cozy, bed was comfy and has everything you possibly need to make your own meal if you wanted a quiet night in. I'd highly recommend it. Make sure you visit all the historical villages in the region while you are there!

I live in the SW of France with my husband, twin daughters and our dog, Fidget. I'm English and moved to France 13 years ago with my family as a bit of a 'life change'. In my previous life I used to be in charge of a large Special Needs department in a secondary school. Here in France we run a gite complex with 3 holiday homes on site and I also manage another 4 properties belonging to friends who part followed us out here (they bought holiday homes close to us but still live in the UK). Andy my husband looks after the buildings here and renovates other properties in the area. My girls are at secondary school in our local market town and are totally bilingual (much to my envy). We remain incredibly busy but have a lovely family bond with everyone mucking in together - making the big move definitely the right thing to have done. I love the day to day challenge of coping in a foreign language, going to aqua gym with my french neighbour and teaching English in Toulouse on a part time basis. In the 11 years we have been running the gite complex I've made many friends from all walks of life and one of my greatest pleasures is seeing stressed out families leaving relaxed and happy after a great holiday. Makes all the hard work worthwhile.
