The location is amazingly central to all the cool parts of L.A. You are less than 2 miles walk/drive from (1) Beverly Hills, (2) Century City Mall, (3) UCLA/Westwood Village. You are less than 5 miles drive/Uber ride to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Santa Monica beaches, Culver City.
The place isn't brand new, but the living room is spacious, as is the kitchen, dining room, and guest bedroom. Guest bedroom has a king-sized bed, plenty of closet space, and coffee tables for additional storage.
I have a 2BD, 1BA apartment in Century City, located 1 mi W. of Beverly Hills, 2 mi S. of UCLA/Westwood Village, 5 mi E. of Santa Monica Beach, 5 mi W. of Hollywood. You cannot beat the centrality and convenience of this location.
You would be sharing the apart with my tenant who occupies the master bedroom. She is a writer from Wisconsin, and super person.
The guest bedroom has a king sized bed, 2 coffee tables, a spacious closet, and is situated in between the bathroom and kitchen.
What makes this space unique is 2 things...(1) the size for the money, and (2) it's centrality to all the cool things in West LA.
You would be hard-pressed to find anything for this value as central as we are to Santa Monica, UCLA, Westwood Village, Brentwood, Hollywood, and Beverly Hills.
The Century City Mall, one of the finest in LA, is a mere 10 minute walk...with great shopping, movies, food.
The famous streets of Beverly Hills (Rodeo, Canon) are less than 2 miles away, and is a straight shot in terms of walking.
If you don't have a car, the 704 and 4 bus lines have regular routes, and the pickup is right by my intersection.
Guests have access to the entire place. The building is a triplex, and I'm the only unit on the top floor. I do have a set of neighbors who live right below me, so I ask you show them extra special respect in terms of being quiet and courteous. This includes shoes off at the door (since I have hardwood floors which make loud noises if someone is wearing heels or dress shoes), no early morn or late night running of washer/dryer, and just using common sense regarding any type of sound levels (music, volume of your voice, etc...).
I know the LA area very well and will be happy to make recommendations. I can interact with guests either over the phone, via text, or by email. I prefer over the phone so I can get to know my guests. I'm actually based outside of CA, so the interaction will not likely be face-to-face. However, I have friends/neighbors who can assist if a unique situation arises.
The street is a quaint, tree-lined street. For the most part, very quiet. The only noise you might occasionally here is my downstairs neighbors and their children (toddler and a 3-year old). However, if you turn the fans on, you can drown them (URL HIDDEN) least that's been my experience in the past.
In L.A., the public transit is not as good as in Chicago, Boston, or other such cities. However, there is a bus stop within a 5 min walk of my place. It can take you to Hollywood, Santa Monica Beach, and even downtown if you desire. Of course, LA has Uber as (URL HIDDEN) that's always an option.
I'm not much of a cook when I stay here during the summers, so the place is a little light on cooking supplies in terms of pots/pans. I usually just use plastic ware. However, there is a full-sized refrigerator and microwave.
The dishwasher and the disposal are not working, and the right side of the kitchen sink does not drain. So just be careful not to use those things.
Lastly, we have WiFI...but no cable TV.
First of all, no pets are allowed and there is no smoking.
Second, the biggest rule is simply treat this place as well as possible. No drugs, no parties. Maximum of 2 people can stay here. No early morn (prior 8 AM) or late night (after 10 PM) activities such as running the washer/dryer.
My biggest request, out of respect to my downstairs neighbors, is that you simply be highly respectful/sensitive to your noise level...especially early morn and late night. Use common sense.
