Located on the hillside above Zihuatanejo Bay, Solana Boutique B&B is an oasis with spectacular bay views. We offer more than just a room but an experience, a place to relax and unwind, with the amenities of a boutique hotel. A full breakfast is included in the room rate. It includes fruit, cereal, bread and one main entree that changes daily, just let us know in advance if you are vegan or gluten free. A cook is also available in the afternoon to prepare food and beverages from our bar menu.

The space

We designed Solana boutique B&B to be a contemporary retreat with spacious garden areas and a seamless integration between the gorgeous tropical hillside, the spectacular bay and our contemporary Mexican interiors.

The Ciruelo jr suite is one of our more private jr suites and has a private terrace with hammock, airy shower with view, Mexican handmade decor and luxurious linens and finishes.

The Ciruelo jr suite has a queen-size bed to accommodate up to 2 guests. There is also a built-in loveseat and desk space. The suite has spacious closet and vanity area. A private shower opens to a small garden with views to the bay.

We designed the layout of the room and windows & terrace doors to take full advantage of the blissful breezes coming off the Bay but have also included ceiling fans and A/C to ensure your personal comfort.

While Solana was being built, we traveled all over Mexico looking for furniture, art and linens from local artisans. We have custom-made bedspreads from a family-run factory in Michoacan, hand-embroidered pillows and colorful hammocks, Oaxacan wall art and many other uniquely Mexican touches.

A complimentary breakfast is included in the room rate. There is also an honor bar and light lunch/dinner menu available. The entire property at Solana has wifi internet access but you might just forget to check in after a day or two of hammock-naps, sunset happy hours and massages on the beach.

We live on the property and always enjoy chatting at breakfast. We are here to make sure your vacation is refreshing, relaxing and customized to your personal preferences. Please ask us or our staff for assistance with anything that will make your stay happier and more memorable. We can arrange taxis, tours, snorkle cruises and reservations for dinner. Of course, we are also happy just to point you to your hammock and let you spend your entire stay there with cocktail in hand, a book to read with the gorgeous Zihuatanejo Bay on your horizon.

Guest access

At Solana we have a shared open air palapa area that is used for breakfast, an honor bar, cocktail hour, reading and games. It overlooks our infinity pool with a stunning bay view. The palapa area is cool and airy with ceiling fans when the weather turns warm. Other areas that guests may use are the infinity pool, sundeck, library and garden spaces.

Interaction with guests

We assist with breakfast every morning and so are available for guest´s questions. In addition we live on site and so if a guest needs our assistance during the day they can simply ring the office bell to be attended to. We are happy to help and readily available in case of emergency.
