The Bower - garden studio retreat

Spacious studio nestled in the garden which gives onto a lovely natural bush hillside.
The Bower is at the end of a cul-de-sac, with no passing traffic, making it quiet and peaceful - perfect for a relaxing break or as a base to explore the Blue Mountains. It is an easy 10 mins walk to Springwood township with its many cafes and restaurants and if you are driving, just a few minutes from the highway.

The space
The studio is a large room with a queen size bed with quality bed linen, a comfortable sitting area and small dining table and chairs - great for solo travellers or a couple. There is an ensuite with shower and a well equipped kitchen if you want to cook. if not, there are numerous cafes and restaurants in Springwood just a few minutes by car.

Outside the studio is a private patio - a lovely place to enjoy a coffee or a drink in the afternoon, watching the changing light through the trees on the hillside. There is a gas BBQ on the lower level of the garden which you are most welcome to use.

There are often limes and lemons on the trees near the studio and seasonal herbs which you are free to enjoy.

Guest access
Off street parking is available on the very wide nature strip at the front of the house. A short flat walk down the level paved driveway brings you to the studio at the rear of the property. You have your own entrance as the studio is separated from the main house by a courtyard. At night, motion activated lights will safely guide you to the door.

The large garden on the studio level is yours to enjoy during your stay, however, you are welcome to use the BBQ on the lower level and explore the rest of the garden if you wish.

Other things to note
Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations.
The studio is suitable for guests with limited mobility as the access from a car to the front door is flat. The front door is approximately 79cm wide, however, there is one shallow step into the room and 2 shallow steps into the bathroom.

Springwood, in the middle of the Blue Mountains, is 72 kms from Sydney and about 90 mins by train from Sydney’s Central station on the Blue Mountains Line. The Bower is an easy 10 mins walk from the train station or you can take a taxi from the taxi rank on the town side of the station.

Katoomba, home to the famous “Three Sisters” is about 40 mins west by train or car and Glenbrook, with its cinema, cafes, bush walks and swimming holes in the National Park, is 20 mins east.

Springwood is a lively town with lots of cafes and restaurants just an easy 10 mins walk from the Bower. The Blue Mountains Theatre and Community Hub is a venue for concerts, comedy, guest speakers etc and is also the venue for the Springwood Grower’s market held on the 4th Sunday of every month. This market offers a range of delicious local and regional foods.

If you are interested in experiencing the natural beauty of the Australian bush, there are many bush walks for every level of fitness in the national park. Close to home is Birdwood Gully where the walking trail begins just 400 metres from your doorstep. Walking trails are found in Wentworth Falls, Leura, Katoomba and Blackheath which can be accessed by train or car.

If you are interested in art, it is worthwhile visiting the Norman Lindsay Gallery in Faulconbridge just 10 mins drive away.
