As this was our second, (successive!), stay at Anne and Francois' unique Burgundy retreat, there may have been a danger that some of its original charm may have worn off.... This was not at all the case, however! The aptly-named 'Maison de charme' clearly has hidden reservoirs. Not least, the perfect pool area, with uninterrupted views to the horizon, which, due to the much warmer late-summer weather this year, provided a constant oasis during the lazy, hazy days of gentle bike-rides and short excursions to the local Burgundy villages...... The hardest work of each day was reserved for the evenings, with the cheese and wine-tastings around the long kitchen table, or the barbequeing of fish in the garden at sundown. ....."La belle (URL HIDDEN) her best!

A great place to stay. We stayed here to get have a rest during Euro 2016 and it was perfect. In the middle of nowhere but with plenty to do to keep us entertained. Great communication from start to finish, would happily stay here again.

A very warm and personal welcome awaited us, on arrival, and this was followed by a fascinating "tour" of this incredible 'maison de charme' (and it really IS a charming property!) The house itself offers superb accommodation and ample facilities and carries with it a sense of the unique ambiance of the region. It is very generously equipped in all respects and offers facilities and things of interest to entertain both adults and children alike. Outside, the beauty of the surrounding area can be savoured, whilst dining 'al fresco' in the beautiful garden, or, simply, by taking in the views from beside the outdoor pool and catching the scent of the nearby lavender. If you can manage to pull yourself away from the delights of the house and its surroundings, the neighbouring villages, the town of Auxerre and amazing places to visit, such as the Guedelon new-castle-construction project, all contribute to the distinctive regional flavour of the north Burgundy area. We would thoroughly recommend this property and hope to return, ourselves, sooner, rather than later!

I can only recommend a visit to this lovely house, which is filled with many interesting and beautiful little things. Don't come here expecting a sleek hotel finish but a place full of heart. The house contains everything you need to enjoy yourself, the kitchen is well equipped and the internet reliable. The main reason you must come here though is because of the surroundings. The terrace gets the evening sun is shaded by a pear tree at night, all while looking out over fields as far as the eye can see. The pool area feels so secluded and is quiet and beautiful. If you are lucky with the weather like we were, you may well spend all of your time there without even venturing out. The hosts are very friendly, generous and good with communication. Thank you!

We had a very nice stay in Annes house. The house and surroundings are beautiful . The house is very artsy with a unique décor incl fireplace, table football and pinball. Anne and her husband welcomed us and had bought some specialties from the area which we could enjoy in the evening. That’s was very kind. We stayed for a week and could easily have spent more time
