House rules
This place isn’t suitable for infants (0–2 yrs) and the host doesn’t allow parties or smoking.
Enjoy your own personal park space with Current riverfront access. This cozy three bedroom, one bath cabin is uniquely situated on 3 acres within National Park land boundaries just outside one of Missouri's premiere trout parks. Montauk State Park is just minutes away.
Even if you don't fish, you can take a float trip, swim in the clear cool waters of the Current river, relax by the riverside fire pit or just sit on the deck and take in the natural beauty of the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways.

The space
We are very blessed to have this property. It -with very few others- literally sits within the boundaries of the Ozark Scenic Riverways National Park. When you think about it, it is the only riverway designated as a National Park.

We welcome all guests to spend some time in the heart of the Ozarks at the Blue Ribbon Trout Cabin.

The cabin can accommodate up to six people. Yes, it will be cozy with that number, but doable. There is a master bedroom with a queen-size bed; two smaller bedrooms with one twin-bed in each room and; a sofa with a hide-a-bed.

-The only bathroom is located in the master bedroom-

The cabin has a cozy living room/dining room and a full kitchen.

There is a T.V. with Satellite and a DVD player. Not sure why anyone would want to watch tv, but the boss made me put it there!

The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals: Fridge, stove, sink, coffeemaker, microwave, toaster, dishes and just about every utensil one needs to prepare and eat meals. There is a Weber charcoal grill located outside -no need to rush with gas- along with a table, chairs and additional deck chairs to enjoy your time outside.

Down by the river (less than 100 yards) is a fire ring. You are more than welcome to build a fire and enjoy the tranquility of the river. All we ask is that you please buy/use local firewood and make every attempt to burn it. If there is deadfall -lying on the ground of the property- you are more than welcome to burn it.

As mentioned at the beginning, this is a very special and unique property. You will be staying in National Park Property. Please treat it, as with all forest/park property with the utmost respect, and it will reward you forever!

We look forward to hosting you!

Guest access
The entire cabin is yours to enjoy. In addition, there's approximately 250 feet of riverfront property to roam around and play on.

Other things to note
Having a dog ourselves, we understand and appreciate the importance of having them accompany us on vacation.
However, we must limit your pet to a dog, 20 pounds or smaller and must be housebroke.

We also ask that you please strive to limit your dog's bathroom space to the extreme corner of the property -between the shed and road- utilize the provided dooty bags (located on side of shed), to pick up after your pets and please dispose of the waste in the outside trash can.

And please remember.... This is National Park land, and there are critters and creatures. Please keep your dog on a leash when outside, and especially do not leave them chained up outside.

The cabin is located just down the road from Montauk State Park. Although known for its excellent trout fishing, the park and area itself is also a great place to escape and just relax.
The cabin is the ideal location for just that. Located on the Current River, you can seek out the exceptional browns, or relax and forget about life for a while.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to last year's Covid Pandemic, the Tan Vat river access that sits adjacent to the cabin experienced a lot larger crowd than normal. This was especially true during the months of July and August.

What can I say? I’m just a humble public servant -firefighter- for the city of Rolla. I’m originally from Colorado, and the Rocky Mountains are home. I bought this cabin because (although not Colorado) it’s about as close as I can find. I truly love and respect the great outdoors.
