A charming old house packed full of collections of interesting objects right in the heart of a pretty village. Walking from the door and a reasonable drive to the lakes of the Jura. Rene was a very helpful host.

Rene User Profile

I am fluent in French and English, as well as conversant in Spanish. I was born in the Belgian Congo to a Belgian father and a French mother. I spent my early years split between Africa and southern France. I later lived a number of years in Laos and a year in Greece before moving to the U.S.
I started washing dishes, and became a cook at an early age. I worked for many acclaimed restaurants across the U.S. During the 70’s and 80’s my career took me from Cleveland, to Dallas, to Key West, and to Washington DC before settling back in Dallas in the late 80’s. In 1986 I purchased the French bistro "Watel’s" from my friend Damien Watel. I sold it in 2013 , and have since, with my wonderful wife Terri, bought a small place in Burgundy, from which to conduct dinners, tours, and vacation rental space. Terri and I enjoy food, wine, arts, entertaining, and travel. Ask us about our Dallas dinners and classes.
Thank you for visiting. Even if not with us, come to France as soon as you can! It is a beautiful country!
