Ile Saint Louis is perhaps the most enchanting and romantic place to stay in Paris. Many of the buildings on this prime piece of real estate were built as homes for noble families and wealthy merchants in the 17th century. The island sits directly behind the Isle de la Cité, the home of Notre Dame.

The island is like a little village in the centre of Paris and offers everything in terms of shops, authentic restaurants and cafes. You can try the world famous Bertillon ice cream, or sit in a cafe over looking Notre Dame. It's a wonderful place.

Many of the most visited and picturesque locations in Paris are within easy walking distance of the Ile St-Louis; Notre Dame, the Louvre Museum, the Pompidou Centre, the Left Bank, Latin Quarter, and Sainte Chapelle.

METROS: Pont Marie (line 7) within 2 minutes walking distance or Saint Paul (line 1) within 4 minutes walking distance.

My husband and I and our two kids stayed here for three nights. Angie greeted us so warmly and made us feel very welcome and she was just so easy to talk to. The apartment is in a gem of a neighbourhood. My main concern with younger children was safety and I did not need to worry! Loved this area! Gorgeous bakery just around the corner and Berthillon ice cream everywhere! I loved the space we had in the apartment, does not compare to what you would get in a hotel room, and it was so great to have two separate bedrooms and a little kitchen for drinks and nibblies. The apartment is old and therefore very "creaky" but I thought that added to the charm of it all. It was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. We stayed over a weekend so street noise went on for awhile but that did not bother us. The highlight of this apartment for me were the windows! Fabulous views from every one! I loved to just sit and watch Paris life go by! You can't go wrong with this apartment. Great neighbourhood, great views, and most of all a wonderful host.

One of the reasons we chose this apartment was the location, and all of the positive feedback that we left regarding Angie. She was also very accessible and responsive before arriving which helped put my family at ease since this was our first AirBnB experience. He is a quick summary of our experience: Angie- She is a 10/10. I had only expected help and interaction upon arrival and departure, but having Angie was like having our own concierge. She greeted us upon arrival with a bottle of wine and fresh basket of fruit and other snacks. She gave us a quick summary of the neighborhood and how to get around. Then she checked in to make sure we were getting what we needed. If we ran into her in the neighborhood, she would walk out of her way to show us other attractions, restaurants, etc. I even threw a last minute curveball at her; I called her about getting into a Michelin One Star restaurant and she got us reservations that evening, prime time and table. You won't go wrong with Angie and don't underestimate the importance of having a good host. Location- Île Saint-Louis is a 9/10. It is literally in the center or Paris and a short walk to Notre Dame, Le Marais, the Latin Quarter, several Metro lines, etc. You look out the window and you see one of the bridges across the Seine. Fantastic for our first family trip to Paris. The only reason I didn't give it a 10/10 is that it is a busy location and although very quiet with the windows closed, open windows yielded in some street noise and people noise, but not too bad after bedtime. Apartment- 7.5/10, this place is EXACTLY as it appears in the photos (the master bedroom not depicted is a mirror image of the other bedroom). 2 bathrooms and washer dryer was essential for our family. No complaints, just wasn't new enough for our tastes but definitely has that Paris charm. Very nice place. We would rent this place again on future trips to Paris as long as Angie was the host.

We know Paris reasonably well and have always wondered what it would be like to live on the I'le St. Louis. The location was perfect--convenient to all the spectacular Paris sites yet its own little neighborhood. Overlooking the Seine, the apartment was comfortable, clean and well-appointed. The two bedrooms were right next to each other, a possible privacy issue if two couples were staying there but not a a problem for us (a couple and a single friend) Angie was a terrific host. She met us at the apartment the morning of our arrival--no problem with an early checkin--answered our questions and helped get us settled. She was on call during our stay and made sure we got off ok when we left. All in all, a good Paris experience.
