Richmond Vale Diving & Hiking Center is a down to earth place in the middle of St. Vincent's magnificant nature that offers you the possibility to escape the civilization and escape in relaxation.

The space

We are located on a headland by the caribbean ocean side to the North of St Vincent in beautiful unspoilt rainforest. It is 5mins walk down the hill to the beach which you will often have to yourself.

We are a hiking centre and most people who visit want to climb La Soufriere volcano. We offer this and other local paths and water falls.

We try to offer a different experience from the larger hotels here for those on a tighter budget. We are also an academy teaching students from all over the world to work with charities and with climate change and sustainability with the local community. We grow as many of our own fruit and vegetables as we can and are working to be self sufficient.

Guest access

Guests can access to the Kitchen and Laundry in the hiking centre building. The Main Hall is a shared area where we share meals and the students have their workshops and classes, when this happened is better if guests respect the silence in the space.

Interaction with guests

We'll always be here to receive guest and show as much as the would like to know about our centre and activities available

Other things to note

We offer Scuba diving. We have our own PADI Dive Center where we teach in Scuba Diving. So if you want to try Scuba diving this could be the place to do it.

Discover Dive: US$70
Shore Dive: US$45
Boat Dive: US$65

All is per person including all gear needed.

A very good experience, friendly staff and students were happy to welcome us. The meals were very tasty and the location was ideal with perfect access to the beach and hiking.

The centre is a perfect location for hikers to overnight as they partake in their daily exploration and adventure. You definitely need a vehicle to go anywhere including the beach...but with a vehicle you are very close to the placeanof interest. The rooms are lovely and comfortable. Take note however that there is no adequate space to chill or store food items in the general kitchen. We were allowed to use the communal fridge there but space was tight. We were also allowed to use the stove to prepare our morning coffee. It is a quiet environment and the students are not intrusive. I recommend here for those who wish to camp out in comfort.

This is an amazing facility! It is a GORGEOUS part of St Vincent, but takes time and money to get there. (Taxi ride, two hours from Kingstown, about $65 US, or $75US to or from airport). David is super nice and great at communication, getting us there and showing us the facility. The grounds are super. It was nice having meals that were made of food grown at the facility and spending time with students and teachers there. If you are planning to go there, be sure to let them know the activities that you want to do ahead of time so they can set up guides. Also, if you go in the hot time of the year: there is no air conditioning. Only fans. May be ok for most of the season, but not during August. Next time I will be sure to go during the cooler months!! Overall, this is an excellent way to see an environmental facility at work! Thanks everybody!

Altough our stay was ok, David did an amazing job welcoming us at Richmond and trying to organise activities as we didnt book early enough to hike the volcano and there were no divemaster at the time of our stay. We were kind of dispointed as we expected a lively place full of young people and we expected to have a drink and chill with them but most of them were in their room before 10Pm and we were saturday night. The teachers and the volounteer were really nice with us tho. Richmond is perfect if you're looking for a relaxing place , the rooms are well equipped for something so far away, the food really good, altough costly and to climb the volcano or any other activities they offer.

It is a beautiful Place in the nature of st. Vincent. It is very quiet an pure. If you want you can do lots of Activities like hiking, diving or just walking aroznd; and do a Lot of sightseeing. For example the dark view falls or the vulkano la soufriere. Here are many young people Working as Volunteers, perfect for bagpacker or island hoppers. I liked it. Everybody was very friendly and helpful.

Richmond Valey is the best place to stay in St. Vincent. It has been a different experience in my Caribbean Tour. This place is a eco-training centre with students all over the world. I had to chance to eat organic food for very good price 3 times a day. I even planted my own food :) And meeting different people who are working for the environment is priceless. I did not only had a lovely 3 days at a place with a breathtaking view but also experiment a community life. They also organise tours around for affordable prices. Thanks for everything and hope to see you again!
