The cottage is a small house in my garden. It's built to be used as my work space, but it was just to good to be a workshop, so we turned it into a guest house. It offers more privacy than staying in the main house, but is a little more primitive.

Guests appreciate the cottage.

The space
In the cottage there is a small kitchen - area, but only cold water and no stove. There is a living room area with a coach, witch can be made in to a sofa bed for two people. There is a (brand new!) bedroom with a double bed, and a open loft where to children can sleep on mattresses. There is no bathroom or toilet in the cottage, but staying here you will have full access to the kitchen and main bathroom in the house.

For a longer stay, or for groups more than tree people, you may ask for a spesial offer.

My family and I have restored an old house, and established the garden here. We love the place and enjoy sharing it with others.

This is the third year of being an Airbnb-host, and from giving advices to guests and helping them make the best out of their stay here, I have gathered experience which I hope will improve the visit for my guests.

Guest access
Staying here you get a small cottage to yourself, but you have full access to the main house and the garden.

Other things to note
Please ask for recommendations! I have lived in the area my whole life, I know where to go and what to do and will gladly share some suggestions with you :-)

We do have two food stores at Forsand, one of which has a small bakery and marina. I highly recommend it. But it is closed on Sundays, on weekdays it closes at eight in the evening and on Saturday at six. We dont have any restaurants at Forsand. The nearest places are at Jørpeland, and the restaurant at the parking for Prekestolen / The pulpit rock is good. In Jørpeland (15 mins by car) there are several big supermarkeds.

What Im saying is; you should make plans for your meals and your shopping :-)

And don't expect an exiting night life here. Forsand is one of the most quiet places in the world.
But if you have a chance do recommend visiting Stavanger for culture, beautiful old wooden houses and some of the best restaurants in the country.

I live in the midle of some of the most spectacular nature in Norway, with 15 minutes drive to the parking lot for The Pulpit rock / Prekestolen.

The garden is at the foot of one of my favourite mountains, and close to a beautiful lake, a river and two fjords. I will live here forever.

I I am a mother of four fantastic kids. Their father/my ex husband is from USA/Kentucky, I love traveling, meeting new people and seeing new places, but even more than that, I love living here and having a chance to let other people discover this wonderful place we live in. My family has always been international oriented. My children, aged 13 to 25, are experienced travelers and also experienced hoists. For some reasons, almost every summer since I moved into my home in 1988, tourists have dropped by, and spent a night or more here. Their feedback and our experience with having guests from all over the world, and making new and nice connections, are big reasons for me to start doing Airbnb. My biggest hobby is definitely gardening. I also enjoy (but don’t spend enough time doing it) traveling, hiking/walking in the mountains, paddling kayak, and experiencing the nature right here. Indoor hobbies are hand crafts like quilting, knitting, also like cooking and training, but if I’m honest; most time is spent in the garden… We are a non-religious family. We strongly believe in being nice and tolerant and welcome you to our home.

During your stay
I enjoy having visitors, and sharing time with them when it works out, but that is entirely up to my guests. If you'd like to keep to yourself, I will of course respect that. :)
