As you mentioned, Vanuatu has had a couple of cyclones this year. The last one being out of season. but luckily for Marguerite & Graham, it had only just gone by the time that they arrived on Santo. However, yes there was a lot of cleaning up to do and it would have affected some of the problems that my guests encountered, the cleanup crew & maintenance man couldn't get to it before guests came, I am sorry about that. just didn't have the time to fix the drainage problem, which would have been caused by the amount of rain leading up to Cyclone Donna. Same with the storm damage to screens which are being attended to at the present time. After all, it is a third world country and things don't happen as quickly as we would like. Also being a tropical island you will always get bugs/geckos etc around. Spray, mozzie coils are provided. Don't know what guests are talking about in saying booklet in house didn't relate to 'entertainment equipment'
The trees are protected native trees. Yes they are huge i admit, but most people are intrigued by these amazing 200 year old trees over the house. Yes, 200 years and they have been through many cyclones and not fallen..
Unless communications were down in Santo, which I believe they were at some stage of the guests stay, I am always contactable by email. Also my onsite manager lives next door.
Guests were advised from the beginning that they would need to hire a vehicle as the house is 11 kms from Luganville.
I am so sorry that your holiday wasn't as you expected.
