Completely renovated and redesigned, only the outside walls have remained unchanged. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms - ideal for families! The apartment is on the 4th floor with amazing open views in all directions, to San Marco, the canal and the lagoon.

The space

We have created a modern, tasteful, spacious interior and exposed the old beams in the living area. We have installed two completely new bath and shower rooms. The fitted kitchen is fully equipped (including dishwasher & washing machine). The windows of this 4th floor apartment look out over the most romantic views possible to San Marco in one direction and to the Lagoon, which can be clearly seen behind the church of Madonna dell'Orto in the other. In some weather conditions, you can even see the snow-clad Alps shimmering beyond the lagoon! The sleeping accommodation comprises a double room and another room with two single beds for maximum flexibility; these areas are finished in striking blue and red against the white walls. The sitting room (in one large space with the kitchen) has a dining area, and is finished in yellow and grey, with white walls and black beams. When you are in the apartment, it is a wrench to leave; to return after a day out in the city is a pleasure to look forward to!

Guest access

You have access to the whole apartment. Enjoy!

Interaction with guests

You will be entirely private during your stay. You will be able to contact our friend (who also cleans) if a problem occurs, but otherwise you will be a true Venetian and, using our complete guide, can discover it all at your own pace.

Other things to note

PLEASE NOTE : WE WILL SEND YOU THE KEY BY REGISTERED MAIL. We would like you to book well in advance so the key can get to you in time!

Wi-Fi now installed and fully functional. Free, of course, for you to use and enjoy!

Venice is a very special place, and its beauty is all its own. The most suitable visitors will be those who appreciate quiet, serene holidays and will not be looking for the high life, but will enjoy the apartment and the city for qualities other than those offered by most other destinations. The access to the apartment is on foot only, and there are 5 flights of stairs up to the flat's front door. A pushchair could be left in the downstairs hall. Stereo system with CD player, radio and iPod dock. Bring your iPod and play your own music as you relax, have a drink or eat. Bring your tablet and enjoy full unrestricted use of the wifi.

There are STAND FANS to cool you in summer time.

Wireless Internet

House Rules

Treat our lovely apartment as you would your own home! Like all Venetian homes it is in a building with others, so no noise after 10pm. Thanks!

Great apartment and fantastic location, especially for escaping the Easter crowds. Very quiet peaceful location on a truly residents only canal, just a hundred or so meters away from the busy madness of Venice.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Anthony's apartment. It was very clean, and appeared exactly as it was listed in the description. The view from the window's in the apartment are amazing, and was a nice surprise that we hadn't expected. The apartment is in a very convenient location. 15 minute walk from the bus terminal, and 15 minutes to St Mark's square, which was extremely handy for us to get around the city. Despite its great location, the streets are relatively quiet, so there's no need to worry about loud groups of people walking past at early hours in the morning. There are also some extremely nice and reasonably priced restaurants on the street of the apartment, which are worth paying a visit. In terms of things to visit I won't go into too much detail, but St Marks Basilica, the Campanille Tower in the square, the Doge's Palace, and the Natural History Museum are all well worth seeing. We also took a train from Venice (the station is 15 minutes walk from the apartment, near the bus terminal) to Verona for a day trip. Trains are fairly reasonably priced, so worth a try if visiting the city. The directions Anthony provided to the apartment were extremely useful, as the city is a bit of a maze, so I am grateful for those. Receiving the key by post in advance of the trip also puts minds at ease prior to travelling. Although the door from the courtyard square into the base level of the apartment block can be a bit sticky, and sometimes required us to reach through the window beside the door to pull the handle from the inside. This wasn't too much of a hassle, and once we had worked out what to do when it stuck it was no problem at all. Overall I can't recommend this apartment enough. Great host, great price, great location!

Thanks to Anthony we an awesome experience in Venice. Everything you need to know is provided by Anthony (a perfect guide in variable languages and always the right answers, if we had questions). The appartement is marvelous. There is enough room for a party of four. We stayed as a couple, enjoying 2 bathrooms! We cooked in the fully installed kitchen (bought fresh fish at the rialto market) and visited some spectacular restaurants right around the corner (GAM GAM & Paradiso Perduto). We felt welcome from the first contact to our las hour in Venice. We had a perfect time. If we get back to Venice we would like to stay here again! We are grateful to had this fabulous opportunity, thanks Anthony!

We had an enjoyable stay at Anthony's flat. Aside from the mishap of getting the apartment key. Anthony responded to the emergency situation very well and was easy to communicate with. The flat has a good view, and it is fully stocked with necessities including kitchen utensil, hair blow dryer and towel. The shower head is with good water pressure and temperature. The apartment is spacious for four, the pictures depicts the interior accurately. The location is convenient, nice 30min walk from St. Lucia station and 30 min walk from the main attractions. There are many good restaurants within 5 min walking distance.

As this was my first visit to Venice, I feel that we could not have had a better location.

Response from Anthony Peter:
We agree with you, Tara! Our location is very special, being off the beaten tourist track, but nevertheless right in the heart of the area of best restaurants (used by real Venetians), and quiet (at the end of its own alleyway). You will always be welcome to come back whenever you would like! Thanks again!
