Hakuba Cottage Momiji is a stylish and refined self-contained house in the beautiful village of Hakuba, Nagano — a world-class ski destination and home to the 1998 Winter Olympics.

The space

The newly renovated two-bedroom cottage offers elegant accommodation for four people at a very affordable price and has everything you need to treat yourself to a delightful stay — from a snug winter evening at home enjoying the state-of-the-art entertainment facilities, to outdoor dining on the beautiful deck late into the summer evenings.

Check out the accommodation — you won’t be disappointed!

The Cottage

Hakuba Cottage Momiji is a stylishly renovated two-bedroom self-contained house surrounded by trees in the Misorano Forest, close to the bars and restaurants of Echoland, and perfectly situated to explore all the major ski resorts in the area via the free shuttle buses which pick up close to the cottage.

The cottage makes perfect comfortable accommodation for four, but can easily sleep six people when the two extra futons are placed in the Japanese-style dining room downstairs.

Refined living spaces
The elegantly furnished living/dining room has a vaulted ceiling and expansive plate-glass windows and patio doors offering a breathtaking view of the forest. A perfect place to luxuriate during your stay in Hakuba.

You will find everything you need to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable. Here, and in the whole cottage, is an entertainment centre second to none, loaded with the latest movies and TV shows — or bring your own and watch them on the region-free DVD player. There is a games console for the kids too — or the big kids among you! Needless to say, the cottage is also fully wired with broadband internet and a wireless network.
Powerful fan-assisted heating and underfloor heated areas in the living room and kitchen keep you toasty warm.

The Japanese-style dining room leading off the main lounge is a cosy space for eating-in. This room can also double as a third bedroom by laying out the two futons conveniently stored in the closet — ideal for kids.

Galley kitchen.
The galley kitchen features a massive fridge/freezer with built-in ice maker and plenty of storage space. There is a gas hob set into the countertop. You will also find every appliance you'll need.

Also downstairs is a fully-tiled wet room with a deep bath and powerful shower, a vanity room/laundry area with a washer/dryer, and the separate toilet. The bathroom, with it's built-in air heating system, can even double as a drying room for your damp ski wear after a day on the slopes.

There are storage racks at the entrance for your skis and snowboards.

Luxurious bedrooms
The cottage has two double bedrooms upstairs.

Bedroom 1
There is a comfortable queen size bed that can be split into two singles for complete flexibility. Crisp linens compliment the tasteful decor, offering a refined and peaceful private space.

There is a desk and chair, and an Apple Mac for your own use, allowing you to catch up with your email or video chat with your friends and family back home. A flat-screen TV and Apple TV connected to the cottage’s state-of-the-art entertainment system will let you enjoy music or movies.

A comfortable armchair in the corner at the tall plate-glass windows provides an ideal spot to relax with a great book after a tiring day on the slopes.

Bedroom 2
This newly added room has the wow factor as soon as you enter. It's an ideal room for the kids since it has its own lounge area and flat screen TV — but you'll probably want to keep it for yourself!

Again there is a queen size bed that splits into two singles for maximum flexibility. Trendy decor and tasteful accessories add to the overall ambience. The two windows give you views out the front and back of the house.

This room, like all the rooms in the house, has whizz-bang entertainment facilities. Or for more unhurried chill time, relax with some of the books and magazines provided for your use.

Resort-style outdoor living and dining
Wrapping around the side and rear of the cottage is a beautiful deck where you can spend all day and evening during the warmer months. There is a large dining table and chairs that seat up to 8, for enjoying family breakfasts or BBQs. The elegant sofas and reclining chair offer a comfortable area for outdoor lounging.

We enjoyed our stay. Location is nice a quiet but also walking distance to Echoland main Street. Neil and his team took the time to explain and sort out lift passes, transport, ski hire and restaurant booking. Was able to cook in house with a well equipped kitchen.

Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Hakuba. We have skied most places in the world and Neil's accommodation rates up there in terms of quality and service. We will be back to use Neil again. Good location, great amenities, warm and comfortable and the pick up / drop off and grocery service is awesome. Neil went out of his way to arrange great ski rental (Woody's) as well. He could not do anymore to make it a fantastic experience.

Momiji is the perfect place for a family get away. It is nestled in a quiet street away the centre of Hakuba where you can enjoy the view from any aspect of the house. Even so it is within walking distance to the main street of Echoland which is lined with restaurants and a convenince store as well as a free shuttle service to the slopes. Neil and his team were extremely hospitable and helped us with ski hire, lift pass information and shopping.

Neil is a great host. A friendly greeting at the train station, a tour of the town highlighting the best places to eat and see, and a comprehensive tour of the cottage as well. Neil helped us with shopping, renting a car and also provided a discount voucher for skiing. We stayed in touch via text and nothing was too much trouble. The cottage is great, plenty of room for our group of 4 adults and an easy walk into the restaurants. The free ski bus stops out front so that was handy as well. It was late in the ski season when we arrived and although we had snow on the ground it was melting in areas but there was still plenty on the nearby slopes. We were rewarded with a big snow fall on our last day which returned everything to its beautiful winter wonderland glory. As we have no snow where we come from it was a great delight for us. Thank you Neil, a highlight of our Japanese Holiday!
