Great location
95% of recent guests gave the location a 5-star rating.
A one bedroom guesthouse, on the historic grounds of Glenshaw's "Shaw House". The guesthouse was built on the foundation of a nearly 200 year old farm shed, and backs up against the property's hillside. Convenient parking on ground level, with lots of foliage and privacy. The house feels like it is in the country, but is a short 9 miles from downtown Pittsburgh, with easy access to both the PA turnpike and route 28.

The space
A smart layout and vaulted ceilings make this 350 sq ft tiny house feel rather spacious. The space is perfect for two people. The kitchen has a two person eat-in peninsula, a mini fridge for the few essentials, electric stove/oven, toaster, microwave, keurig and additional kitchen storage. The bathroom is very small, but functional, with a standing shower, and built-in shelving. The bedroom has sliding doors going out to a deck and a built-in closet. The bedroom has a queen bed with a memory foam topper for extra comfort and bed linens are always freshly laundered (including the duvet cover!).

Where you’ll be

Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, United States

The Glenshaw Valley is a gorgeous part of Allegheny County and feels much farther from the city than it actually is. In view from the guest house is the historic "Shaw House", a church next door, and a sweet little library beside it. Pine Creek is across the road, which is good for fishing and perfect for a creek hike. A half mile down the road is a large grocery store, gas station and Walgreens. Less the 5 miles away is a big shopping mall and lots of restaurants near it. Fall Run Park is a short 2 minute drive and beautiful for hiking and picnicking along Pine Creek and seeing its lovely waterfall.

My favorite time is spent with my husband and kids. Most recently we have been enjoying restoring our historic homestead, and filling it with friends and family.
