My Flat is in the north district of Kyoto. It's a good area where you can take a walk in the ancient city. It's near Daitokuji-temple & Imamiya shrine. There are regional restaurants and shops around here. It's about 15 minutes walk from Kitaoji stn.

The space

The room is about 21 square meters(include room, kitchenette and bathroom).

It's a little large studio room size for single person. But the couple and family (up to 4 person) is possible to stay.

Guest access

You can use a kitchenette, bathroom(shower&toilet), a refrigerator, a microwave, and a washing machine in self-contained apartment.

Though there are no beds, futon and mattress are very comfortable and arrangeable for you.

The air conditioning is equipped.

Two bicycles are available free!

Interaction with guests

When you check in, I or my staff can go to the bus stop(HigashiTakanawacho) to see you on foot. If you want, we can guide around my house at this time.

As my apartments are self contained, I seldom have the chance to talk with my guests. However guests can easily contact me via email.

Other things to note

Please tell me what time you arrive at my apartment no later than 3 days before your arrival. (I understand nobody knows how long it takes by immigration, bus, taxi and so on. So you can reschedule. But you had better contact me as soon as possible. Because if I have business another place, I cannot go to my apartment immediately.)

I would like to hand a room key at the time when you want, but it may be impossible if I have business. Then I will put the room key into the key-box at the stairs of my apartment. In this case, please come to my flat by yourself and open the door by yourself.

You can check-in in the morning, if the room is vacant in the morning. However, if there are guests in the morning, you can check-in after 4 pm. If you really want to check-in in the morning, please book one more day.

A very quiet and nice place. Though a little bit far from other district, it's very close to bus station, and not far from subway either. It is very enjoyable to have a quiet place to rest after a whole day's walking.

Home was in a quiet neighborhood and away from crowd. 15 min walk from kitaoji station and several bus stops. We had no trouble traveling to popular destinations. Small but the home fit the needs of 3 people and was we were looking for. Location was nearby grocery store. Usasan was kind!

Second time staying with Usasan at his location in kitaward. Great spot for quiet times but very accessible via bus and train routes. If you plan on seeing the whole city by bus or train I recommend the bus pass and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) maps. Usasan's location is very close to the river and botanical garden as well as kinkakuji the golden temple. The bicycles are also great for getting around town.

Very nice little apartment in the north of Kyoto. Usasan was answering very fast to our questions. It was clean and everything you need was provided! Cost performance was also a big advantage. I would go there again if I have the chance!

Usasan checked us in promptly and without hassle at our appointed time. The room is a little small, but it has everything you could possibly need very neatly arranged (except perhaps a weighing scale for luggage), so we didn't find any issue with the small size whatsoever. We loved the neighborhood! Two wagashi stores right across the street, a ramen store that operates till midnight every night, some izakayas, and even a Michelin-starred soba place a 3-minute walk away. It was a little bit far to get to the city though, but overall it was worth it.

Usasan's apartment was in a fantastic location, made for an authentic Kyoto experience. Usasan came to meet us at the apartment to let us in and show us around and The apartment was neat and tidy with plenty of amenities and snacks provided. Would definitely stay again.

I like cycling and riding motorbike. I had traveled not only in Kyoto, Osaka and Lake Biwa but also had gone to the Sea of Japan and the mountains of Shinshu by bicycle.

When I was a university student, I traveled to various parts of the world, Europe, North America, India, Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia,Singapore,China,Taiwan and so on. while traveling, I stayed at youth hostels, guest houses and inexpensive hotels etc.

I have good memories to have stayed at the student residence of university in Paris, in Vienna and in Chicago etc, flats and share houses in London, and ordinary private houses in Budapest.

My apartment don't have good service as five star hotels, however I definitely feel more comfortable than any rooms at youth hostels and student dormitories.

I am a lecturer of philosophy at a medical technical school while as the owner of my apartments. I can't provide accommodation as good as five star hotels, but I'd like to offer reasonable and inexpensive self-catering accommodation which is popular with independent travelers and the people who wants to spend time slowly in the ancient city of Kyoto and who like stroll and cycling.

My school where I teach is in Nara and my school where I studied in graduate school is in Osaka, therefore I often go to Nara or Osaka.I have information about not only Kyoto but also Nara and Osaka.

I was a travel adviser in Osaka Youth Hostel Association when I was a graduate that time there was an office Of OYHA in Namba, so I walked round Namba and Nipponbashi. I went to Osaka from Kyoto by bicycle many times in those days.

Although I was born in Kyoto and grown up in Kyoto, I seldom know about tourist areas. However I can talk about ordinary life in Kyoto. If you want to know something interesting in Kyoto, please ask me something like to be about the cat of the back alley, but this is a metaphor.

I took a trip to all parts of Japan(47 prefectures) in order to collect postmarks, visited over 1000 post offices. I stopped collecting postmarks, but I can answer about the railway travel and bus trip in Japan.
