This spot is close to everything one needs in Toronto. Very easy to get to transit, shops, dining, and in a great neighbourhood. Would definitely recommend for those looking to stay close to downtown without breaking the budget.

Definitely not luxury, but great for the price. Ted was a great host, bed was comfy, really great bnb if youre just looking for a place to sleep that's in a decent location and plan on spending your days out on the town! Enjoyed my stay a lot, and would stay here again.

I would definitely stay with Ted again. Ted was polite courteous, provided directions to a cheap laundry mat. His apartment was located in a great neighbourhood with good bars, restaurants and entertainment. When I arrived the room and the apartment were cleaned. The guests I stayed with were always great company!

As long as you know it is a basement so nit much light then it's fine! The space is spacious and Ted is really nice. Location is great too.

Ted was very professional and very welcoming. I found the previous reviews to be accurate: the location is very good. The basement unit is old but it is maintained in functioning conditions. The height of the actual bedroom was good for me (I am 5'6) but can be challenging for someone much taller (in case you spend too much time in the bedroom). It is a small bedroom, but I think most people would want to spend time out. There is noise from room above due to walking and running of neighbors but it is not a constant problem and it varies depending on the time of the week. For me the room was a bit chilly but not cold at all as the only heating vent was towards the window. I was offered extra blanket for it. I was also offered tours of the surrounding area but we cancelled due to the cold weather. In the end, I enjoyed my stay with Ted.

I don't like to write negative review, but my 10 days in this flat were my worst airbnb experience so far. I really hated the flat. The very poor lighting throughout make this basement flat very dark and depressing. I couldn’t read or write in the living room. The place needs tidying up and good cleaning. The bathroom is dirty, and even for healthy man like me, I struggled to get in and out the bath where you can have shower . The doors of bathroom and front door stuck. The room I stayed in small and the furniture hardly fit the room. The furniture is very dated. The place is extremely noisy, you can hear the footsteps of the neighbours upstairs, also you can hear them talking. I had to listen night after night to two silly girls talking about reality TV. There are good things about the place, the price, comfortable bed, location, and host seems to be decent guy. I didn’t meet Ted, but when I complained about a few things, he fixed them. I wish I paid more money to stay somewhere else. And maybe the place is not for someone like me.

I'm a 33 year-old musician and piano teacher from Toronto, with a graduate degree in Environmental Studies. I'm a non-smoker, clean, and considerate. I heard about Airbnb through an article on 'The Sharing Economy' in the Economist Magazine. Seems like a great concept.

I welcome anyone from around the globe and am always excited to help you experience Toronto - "The World in a City". I live in a 2 bedroom/1 bath basement apartment that is clean, well-equipped, conveniently located near downtown, and close to transit. I work weekday afternoons and evenings, and rent out 1, sometimes 2, private bedrooms + 1 shared bathroom + shared kitchen / living room.

So far I've had the pleasure of having guests from around the world - some of the cities/countries off the top of my head: Montreal, New York, Switzerland, Germany, London, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver, Moscow and the list goes on!

With regards to accepting reservations, my only ask is that you provide information in your profile - an offline I.D. and reviews/references would be ideal. In other cases (i.e: new to airbnb) please provide additional information such as the purpose of the trip and a little bit more about yourself. Positive Reviews would be ideal.

Of course, if you have any questions for me - just ask!

In terms of hosting style - I am enthusiastic, love meeting new people, responsive, and respectful of your space/privacy. I will serve you a home-made breakfast with eggs, pancakes, Ontario-made maple syrup, fruits and a selection of coffees and teas. As a local, I'm also glad to share advice/tips about the city. When my schedule permits, I've been known to take guests on walkabouts, show them the sights, and treat you to a half-priced meal at one of a thousand different restaurants and cafés across the city.
