The space

This small Victorian is in a very private location. It is next door to a great sledding hill, and 20 minutes from Cannon. The White Mountains are readily available for hiking.

The house's interior is colorful and fun and comfortable for families.

Our house has a lot of original art in it, including the painted stairway. It is a bright, sunny space when the weather cooperates and it is handy to many mountains: Cannon, Loon, and Bretton Woods for skiing; and for hiking the list is much longer. It is very private with a big front yard and a large porch. So just hanging out on the property for a quiet get away is lovely.

Guests have access to all parts of the house: kitchen cupboards and the pantry closet as well as condiments in the fridge. The back porch is screened in and great for warmer months. The only exception is closets and bureaus, as the house is a working house and used by us often. There is an empty bureau in the twin bedroom, for those who really need one.

I am highly available via text and phone, but often do not meet guests in person as it is rare I am in the same place. If we are renting the NH house, that means I am either in ME or MA. I am happy to meet renters who are nearby our MA residence but that has been infrequent. I leave goodies, though, and am happy to help anyone figure out things to do in the area via email.

I love that our neighborhood is bordered by acres and acres of wilderness. Intrepid walkers who don't mind climbing steep hills and braving brambles can be out for a few hours.

The tiny downtown of Lisbon features a beautiful library and town office building within walking distance. There is also a bridge across the Ammonoosuc River where one can stand and look at the dam. Convenient for milk, bread, and eggs is Northrup's Store.

This house is in northern NH. There is no public transportation nearby.

The TV only gets one station! When we are there, we are not interested in watching. However, there are many movies in the house if people want to watch one!

There is no wi-fi, except for cell phones, and even those are spotty. The top of the driveway and the back bedroom have been known for decent service. Again, we are there to unplug!

There is an place with free wi-fi at Wendell's Cafe in Franconia. The coffee is decent and it is next door to the Garnet Hill Outlet, so if you are desperate for the Internet, contact can be made to the outside world from there...

What a wonderfully eclectic house. Beautiful handpainted furniture. It is really spacious, far more than the photos show. Beth was really good, she provided us with suggested activities suitable for our kids age, and it meant we had a great time. The house is fantastically clean. There's a huge garden, and the area is very peaceful.

We love this place! A very private home base to meet all of your NH hiking needs! This is our second time there and this time our nature experience in the yard included 2 wild turkeys with their babies, and 2 baby fawns.

Bethany's house is a perfect getaway, terrific location while close to the village you felt in the middle of the forest. We had everything we needed in the house (very well appointed!) and it is in a perfect location to explore the area. We enjoyed the star filled skies at the fire pit while toasting marshmallows! But for rainy days/nights there is an awesome DVD collection. We and our dog truly enjoyed our time here!

This house house is good for 2 couples and perfect for bringing the dog to. There is only one bathroom so there was a line every day after a long hike. Other than that, the house was in a beautiful setting with lovely landscaping and a nice fire pit. It was so quiet. The lack of cell service had us walking down to the library to make phone calls, but none of us minded. Not to far away was Polly's pancake Parlor which was fabulous for breakfast or lunch! We otherwise ate I. And the kitchen was well stocked for cooking. Our dog loved the zip line in the yard!

A beautifully secluded gem! The listing does not include the awesome fire pit and also the dance of the fireflies at night! Really nice spot to escape the city!

Bethany's place was adorable and charming. It felt like the perfect cozy place to come home to after a day of hiking. The home is decorated with love and the house is quite large. Check in was a breeze and I would definitely recommend this place!

I teach first and second grade in MA., a job I love. I live outside Boston with my husband and Bracco Italiano dog. Our house is a mini Italian villa made of stone and built by an immigrant from Italy in 1920. We still have the original grapevines that he planted. We love to hang out in our yard, but we also love to travel!
