Failure to communicate valid information was lacking from the entire experience. I did not receive any response as to time of arrival and how they would get the key until late morning the day due to arrive from the original reservation 3 weeks before.. I was contacted after midnight for a wi-fi password on the arrival night when it was written down but they didnt understand the writing and therefore found it important enough to reach out after midnight with no apologies.The next time I heard from the party was at 11:30 am on departure day, after I had to call AIR BNB to request help with departure as I had requested twice politely why they were still there and no response. A simple text would have sufficed and or a request for late check out due to sickness. My review on them states my house was a complete mess, and burnt food over all my stove burners, which I have to replace, to which I am thankful there was no stove fire. My house reeked of a food smell and there were crumbs everywhere, so maybe why a mouse would have appeared, as I was unaware of this prior nor had any remnants of a mouse or mice.. My house gleams as it shows in the pictures, and there is no dog hair anywhere nor have I ever been told this from any prior stays. I am not unsympathetic to illness, but these guests had no consideration of my property. It took me 6 hours to get my house back to the way it was when they arrived. I even have a text from the guest after hearing they heard from air BNB as to why they were not out yet and it said how nice and cozy my place was and how beautiful. I never requested them to come back with my house key nor accused them of stealing. though I stated it wasnt there. Once I mentioned they had left car mats in my dryer, yes car mats washed in my washer!!! they decided to come back to get the car mats, and then the keys appeared. I was not interested in meeting them at this point and put the car mats in a bag for them to pick up at end of driveway. I could have easily not communicated about the car mats and discarded them, but I knew it was an item they would want back. After picking up the bag, they remained in the front of my house -2 cars, both front doors open walking back and forth in front of my house and shouting for at least 10 minutes. I reached out to AIR BNB and went thru the resolution center. This was the positive on the entire experience. They jumped when they heard the guests had not left and it was an hour after check out time and they weren't answering my texts. They asked for 30 mins to handle the situation and within 25 mins I had a response. They communicated with the guests on my issues and I sent them pictures of what my concerns were. They kept apologizing to me and the customer service on AIR BNB's end was excellant. Not knowing, when someone is still on your property and refuses to answer your calls as to why they were still there was very concerning to me. In a hotel, you have security, but with a private reservation you have nothing but customer service on the other end of a phone to interven or you might have to resort to further steps, which is a very unpleasant thing to occur. A simple response at any time prior to 10:00 am to the effect that we are running late would have sufficed.

Mary's house is very convenient, comfortable, roomy and clean. It is nicely decorated with a well supplied kitchen. Mary was easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!
