Villa Beji Indah is a real gem! I stayed here with my family and all of us totally fell in love with this special place. The private rooms and villas of this resort are nestled in the most beautiful surroundings of lush gardens and offer enough space for privacy. If you wanna swim in the generous pool, do yoga in the most beautiful yoga pavilion or lazily wander around in the big area on little stone walkways to watch the flora and fauna of Bali - Villa Beji Indah is the perfect place to do so. All you hear is the water flow of multiple little water streams and birds in the trees and beautiful birds. Dragonflies and butterflies are to be seen everywhere. The staff is very lovely and super helpful. The rooms are designed with great attention to detail and could not be any better. The place is located in the beautiful village of Nyuh Kuning, which is just a walk away from the busy center of Ubud, but still is quiet and represents an authentic Bali spirit. All in all one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed so far! Highly recommended!

Highly recommended! This place is absolutely awesome...amazing environment facing the river, beautiful gardens, dramatic swimming pools, and the rooms...are so comfortable, big, and they take care of even the smallest details. We really rested and enjoyed our stay there. It really exceeded our expectations. We got an upgrade, invited to the event that was hosted, and welcomed by all the people working there. Thanks to all!

A quiet serene green place, exactly what i was looking for. Palani from Beji Indah made my stay more memorable by upgrading my room to second floor where one side of the walls is full with sliding glass doors/windows, overlooking the green area of the hotel. Great view when I opened my eyes in the morning. I was looking for a back-to-the-nature getaway, away from the busy metropolitan. I got more than what I was looking for. Staff are very kind and quick in laundry-surely helping me with my 2-3 yoga classes a day despite minimum sport wears I carried. Thanks!!

We loved Villa Beji Indah. The grounds are superb - set on a side of a hill with lush tropical plants all around and stone paths that wind their way past the stream down to the swimming pool. The room is a good size with decent aircon, TV and a nice indoor bathroom. The staff are welcoming and very helpful. Even the food is great. Breakfast down by the pool is a real treat. Massage was good too. Of course the price is significantly higher than many places in Ubud but it does feel more luxurious and is probably less than half what you'd pay in say Singapore or London. It's a little way out of town but if you have a scooter it's only a few minutes' ride to Monkey Forest Road.

We stayed two nights at the Villa (room is located in a villa along with others) and had a very pleasant stay. Room is very comfortable and staff super friendly! Pictures are also very representative of what we found there. The only thing was a fairly bad smell in the bathroom that staff fixed by burning incense. To be noted as well, the villa is a bit far from the city center (especially to find a restaurant at night) for which you need to get a car to go to (staff always helps to arrange it, ca. 4 EUR one way). Overall, a very pleasant stay thanks!

Villa Beji Indah User ProfileVilla Beji Indah is a superhost.

This is the home and garden of Dr Steve Wignall. The property is called Villa Beji Indah. We are located very close to the center of Ubud, next to the Monkey Forest and in a picturesque village called Nyuh Kuning.

There are 18 staff who are all from Ubud and therefore exude the same charm and friendliness that is unique to this Island of the Gods.

Steve is a leading public health expert and activist having spent the last 30 years working with the Clinton Foundation, Family Health International and the Indonesian Ministry of Health. He has a foundation (a non- profit organization) that provides access to HIV testing and treatment for communities across Indonesia, including Bali. This is a man with a very large heart!
After graduating in the 1960s and a 21 year stint as a US Navy doctor he began work in Indonesia. His experience and close relationship to Indonesia, from Papua to Sumatra, is reflected in his eclectic home set in sprawling gardens featuring a 25 meter lap pool, plunge pools, a spa overlooking the river and garden pavilions.

A significant portions of the profits from Villa Beji Indah supports Yayasan Bali Peduli, an HIV NGO founded by Dr.Wignall to provide treatment for people living with the virus. Todate there are 700 people who receive regular services at the 2 clinics run by this foundation.

Our guests have often called this placed 'magical', 'peaceful' and 'amazing'. They have also told us that the pictures don't do any justice to the natural beauty of the actual site.

There are 10 unique suites (in 3 separate villas) on this beautiful property which runs along a lush river valley/ravine. We can house a maximum of 25adults.

It is therefore perfect if you are planning anything from a wedding, a special birthday party, a company retreat, a yoga retreat or family reunions.

This place is rented out as single rooms or as small villas (each of the 3 villas can accommodate about 5 - 10 people.

You can also rent the entire villa if you are planning a big event such as a wedding or retreat.

The village of Nyuhkuning is one of the most interesting hamlets in Ubud, noted for it's community civic awareness. It is home to Bumi Sehat Foundation run by famed midwife Robin Lim (CNN hero of the year) and also to the Bali Peduli Foundation (started by Steve and his colleagues) which focuses on HIV prevention, detection and friendly and accessible treatment. There are numerous small cafes and restaurants on the small road leading to Ubud's popular Monkey Forest which is a pleasant stroll away from the estate.

This is certainly the kind of magical place one needs to unwind, de-stress and refresh.

The property is currently managed by Steve's friend Yulia and staff members Aniek and Mitha. Depending on the time of your message, you will get an response from either one of us.

Well, if you want anymore information please let us know.
We hope to see you at this beautiful spot!

(Please note that the entire estate is a no smoking area. Also we are in the tropics, almost in a forest next to a river - so do expect to hear the symphony of birds and frogs along with geckos and butterflies. If you are not a nature loving person, this property is probably not suitable for you. If you love nature, this is a paradise)
