Le Peyrail is a charming farmhouse nestling amidst the Bordeaux vines near the ancient bastide town of Sainte Foy La Grande. In the 18th century the house was originally three vine workers cottages, now converted into one. Le Peyrail retains the intimacy of the cottage yet is spacious and roomy .

HI , I am an art restorer, artist and writer living in the beautiful Bordeaux region of SW France. I am passionate about Art, Animals and French Cuisine. My life at Le Peyrail allows me to indulge in all three, and as a Chambre D'hote I can share a little piece of paradise with anyone who is looking for a unique and unforgettable holiday. Le Peyrail nestles in the valley above the small village of Les leves et Thoumeyragues with beautiful views across the vallley and the vineyards beyond. We are only ten minutes from the Medeival Market town of Ste Foy La Grande, An hour by train from Bordeaux and thirty minutes from Bergerac and the celebrated wine producing town St Emilion. Le Peyrail is perfectly situated for exploring the region or equally for total retreat and relaxation. The grounds are extensive and diverse yet very private. You can spend time in the Orchards, or exploring the Bamboo wood that borders a small stream on the edge of the land. Or you might prefer finding sun or shade on one of our three terraces and cool down with a plunge in our pool. My animals are very much a part of life at Le Peyrail. My horse Nougat, Darcy and Thomas love being exercised and going on long hacks. I am happy to ride out with any experienced riders, it is the most exquisite way to see the french countryside. Oliver the pot bellied pig lives in the big shed All three dogs, Alfie Pup and Bigs love company and cuddles and my 20 white doves swoop across the valley each day adding a sublime air to the place. I run residential and non residential art courses throughout the year for anyone with artistic notions and I am happy to tailor any course to match your needs and level. if you would to see more you can find me on (Hidden by Airbnb) as Jo Gibbs. This summer I am combining Art and Wine days in conjunction with La Tour de Chollet and am looking forward to some great results. I have my art/restoration workshop on the second terrace and am always happy to show people around my gallery and talk about my work. I exhibit regularly in SW France so there are always new projects going on in the studios. The house was originally three vineyard workers cottages, built in the 18 century ( some stones date further back ) now beautifully converted, Le Peyrail maintains the intimacy of a cottage whilst at the same time being spacious and roomy. My husband and I ran a B and B in Hampshire before coming out to France. I love cooking all types of food, especially regional French cuisine which I offer as Table D'Hote.I also love vegetarian food and I am happy to cater for Gluten Free/Vegan diets with ( 24 hours notice) We offer three double rooms at 60 euros per night and a large attic room with two single beds for 50 euros . The master suite "La Sirenne" hosts a super king sized water bed and en suite shower/wc . You can wake up to views across the valley . The second double room "Marie Antoinette" is beautifully decorated in an elegant old French style . If you are more adventurous the "Explorer " room is for you with artefacts from all over the world. It has its own telescope to view the beautiful night sky. There is no air pollution in this part of France so the clarity of the sky at night is stunning. These three rooms have a shared bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath and are ideal for a family and friends. When the weather is good you can eat out on the veranda, or in the sun at the front of the house. In the colder months our kitchen dining room is both comfortable and intimate. For more formal occasions our dining area can seat up to twelve around the Italian inlaid table. We are equally happy to host short or long stay guests. In this world nothing is mere coincidence. The people who pass through our lives always enrich it in some way. We look forward to welcoming you at Le Peyrail.
