This 350 sq ft cottage is a tiny home concept space, boasting an airy entry, living area, storage landing, kitchenette, bathroom and sleeping loft. Perfect for a romantic getaway, a work retreat, a stop through town on the way to another location, a small family, or a group of friends participating in the many events held in Charlottesville- weddings, concerts, triathlons. Accommodates 1-4 people looking for a relaxed, stylish, modern and comfortable place to stay.

The space

This cottage is just really cool.

Oxford Cottage is a modern Tiny House. It is larger than a standard hotel suite and provides everything you need in a home base during your travels. It is energy efficient and insulated and feels like a tree house, even though it is on the ground. Situated behind the main house on a .75 acre lot, Oxford Cottage is located in a cute, private setting in the heart of Charlottesville!

On the interior, the ceilings are tall, which makes the space feel much larger than it is. The large windows allow for beautiful natural light and views of the surrounding trees and birds. There is plenty of space for 1-2 people, but 4 adventurous souls could stay and be cozy. The beds and furnishings are comfortable and well appointed and linens and towels are provided.

There is central heating and air and a ceiling fan.

It is a very basic and relaxed space. There is no TV, but there is free, super fast fiber Wifi so you could stream away on your phone, iPad, etc. The kitchenette has a microwave, small induction cook top, refrigerator freezer and a toaster oven. There are enough dishes and silverware, mugs, cups and wine glasses for up to 4 people.

One important note about the stairs to the loft, is that they are steep and you will need to take your time going up and down. Use the handrails and watch your noggin at the top. It's easier to come down them backwards, like you would a ladder on a boat. Toddlers and folks with knee or hip issues should not use them. (We can provide a safety gate if you have a little kiddo). You can also just decide to sleep on the futon in the living area if you do not wish to navigate the stairs. They are sturdy and well built, but they are not a standard stair case.

We have taken care to build and maintain a low impact building. Please turn off the lights when leaving the cottage and be aware of water usage. We provide low impact shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, body lotion and shave cream, and toilet paper and paper towels. There is a hair dryer and iron.

The cottage is also available for rent along with the main house if you have a larger party during the Holidays or Graduation.

Aly's tiny home was one of the sweetest experiences I have had. Everything about this house was beautiful and meaningful. The neighbourhood is gorgeous. Aly has thought of everything, including a goodie basket. A total pleasure.

Myself and my girlfriend had the privilege of staying at Ally's and it was one of the best decisions we've made. Whether you want to explore the mountains, Charlottesville, or relax by the fire pit in the back yard and order delivery. You can do it all here. Thanks, would revisit again!

This tiny home was super cool. Lots of attention to detail with the decor and design AND.... it was spotless. We were left alone the whole time and given privacy, so even though you're in someone's back yard, you don't feel like it. It was definitely one of our favorite places we have stayed and we would definitely like to return so we can do some activities that we didn't have time for during our stay. The bed was also very comfortable, they really did this tiny home right!

Tiny House is the perfect solution to a comfortable, convenient, clean, affordable and adorable place to stay in Charlottesville. Aly was responsive from start to finish, though we really didn't need her for anything other than to say hello when we checked in. Snacks on the counter and bright light from the big windows added to the "Welcome to Our Tiny House" feel when we opened the door. We walked to UVA grounds in about 30 minutes, and avoided the usual "where shall we park?" issue. Bottom line...we can't wait to return!

This tiny house is an absolute gem. Comfortable and cozy, cute and secluded, but still close to restaurants and shops, extremely well-appointed with everything you need for a lovely stay in Charlottesville. Would definitely stay here again!

I loved Aly's place! My girlfriend and I are obsessed with tiny houses, and Aly went out of her way to make sure our stay was special. She even gave me a recipe and ingredients to make a bonfire apple crisp in her dutch oven. I can't wait for my next stay.

This Tiny Home in the heart of Charlottesville was so cozy and made our short stay so enjoyable. Everything we could ever need was already planned and laid out by Aly, our gracious host. The house was very neat and clean, and Aly was very prompt in answering any questions we had. She had thought of the things we didn't even know we would need. The location was close to the downtown area and was central to many restaurants and wineries, which was part of the reason we came down. Thanks Aly, for a great stay in Cville!
