Our comfortable guest suite is in a 1890's Brownstone Style building in Baltimore's Historic Mount Vernon Neighborhood. Great restaurants, Walters Art Museum, theaters, the Opera House, Symphony Center, and public transport are all close by.

The space

This a beautiful and modern 3-level apartment (located on the 4th, 5th and 6th floors of a historic building) with great views. I live here with my girlfriend and our private quarters are on the top (6th) floor. The guest suite is located on the 5th floor, and the kitchen/common areas are on the 4th floor. (Please advise that there isn't an elevator - stairs only).

Guest will have shared access to kitchen w/ bar area and electric baby grand piano--views from living area are stellar! (sorry the pool table was recently sold)

We will meet you at check-in, at the front door. Please keep us informed of your arrival time. We love hosting and want you to feel at home. We will give you a set of keys and you can come and go as you please. We are happy to chat with you, if you like, or can give you privacy during your stay. Welcome to Mount Vernon!

Mt. Vernon is known as the cultural center of the city. The neighborhood has fantastic architecture, a wide variety of restaurants, museums, a great park, and a good selection of night life offerings. The building itself was built in the 1890's as a single family home, was converted into apartments in the 60's and renovated in '07-'08, maintaining and restoring as many original features as possible. The location is one of the most convenient in the city, close to the train station, light rail and a free shuttle to downtown. Mount Vernon is one of the most walkable neighborhoods in the city--those familiar with Walk Score site will see it ranks among the cities highest.

The train station, light rail, bus lines, as well as a free dowtown shuttle are all closeby. Parking in the neighborhood is limited, but there are a couple of pay lots (with limited hours) within a few blocks.

The suite is part of an apartment in a brownstone style apartment building. The building feels like a home and the neighbors are very respectful of each other regarding noise ect.

I loved my stay here. The guest suite was huge and gorgeous, as was the rest of the apartment. It's even better than the photos! John was a great host with excellent communication. And I was treated to great conversation and live ukulele music! I really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood - historic Mt Vernon. The cathedral is amazing. Excellent restaurants within 10 minutes. And an easy walk to the waterfront. I would certainly stay here again.

I was at John's for a conference, and the proximity to the convention center (a great historic walk or free city shuttle ride) makes this ideal for personal or business travel alike. John's apartment is in the heart of Baltimore with views that match. The layout is great and provides much privacy for guests. I would recommend this to anyone who wants an authentic Baltimore experience.

This place is amazing! I've never seen an airbnb space quite like it. Gorgeous interior, unreal view of the gothic spires of the Mt Vernon cultural district, great design...could go on! John was a fantastic host: accommodating, friendly, and reliable.

Wow, what a fantastic space. Location is great for walking or ubering to sights and to the Johns Hopkins medical campus. Room with en suite bath provides comfort, privacy and view of the 1st Washington Monument. John is friendly and flexible and left the lights on for us to find our way to our room each evening when we returned late. We stayed five nights and highly recommend this place.

This is a very spacious loft, the room as well. John and Jessica were very open and we even had 2 meals together. They took us to a local pub to watch the superbowl! And showed us around in the neighbourhood. Perfect stay!
