Perfect spot, so quiet, then out onto busy street, right in the middle of things.

It took some moment to find the main door to get into the community from the Main Street. Otherwise, everything went smooth.

The house itself is very well presented, very comfortable, bright and beautiful. However maintenance seems to be quite low as handles were missing, lights were hanging from the ceiling, etc. Make sure to photograph this on arrival as I have had other hosts try to claim money from me for existing damages. The facilities were good, though it should be noted that the lack of shower and dryer was quite inconvenient. Close to the metro, hence closely connected to the city. ---> Though a forewarning on the location: during the day the street is quite fine, but after dark/evening we found it quite challenging to feel safe in this area, going so far as to impose our own curfew of 7pm. I highly recommend you research the type of establishments on this street to judge wether you would stay here/ bring children here. One woman we spoke to on the metro told us that Pigalle was the "worst area in Paris". I don't believe it's the worst but it certainly did not feel safe whatsoever. Overall, if you're planning to spend he day out and be back before night - I would recommend this place If you're planning to see Paris by night, or arrive back after dark - I would not recommend this place.

We loved our stay in Richards apartment. It was a nice big space, perfect for two people to spread out. Really close to the metro (across the road) and even though it's on a really busy street the apartment is at the back of the courtyard and is super quiet! There's some really nice restaurants, bars and shops in he area once you get off the main road, and it's easy to navigate Paris from this area Richard was also really nice, check in was very easy.

Richard's spacious place was a great find. I can confirm what others have written about the calmness of the courtyard; it is quite the opposite of the busy boulevard de Clichy. The location is great in terms to getting to Montmartre and the metro is right there, making going anywhere around town very easy. The appartement is nestled in a courtyard that has a feel of a community; there are lots of plants (even a fig tree by the door) and young people with families, offices, etc. We appreciated the AC as Paris was rather hot during our visit. The appartement is on three floors (if you count the bedroom mezzanine) which we didn't mind but you should keep in mind depending on whether you are traveling with young children or older folks. I loved Richard's artistic choices. The beds were very comfy and the kitchen very well equipped. We were thankful for the washing machine also. We highly recommend Richard's place.

The surrounding courtyard was beautiful but the accommodations weren't quite what we expected and the neighbor was not welcoming or friendly. This made it difficult to have a comfortable stay.
